ok..wuts the whatever and the shrug for Mike69?
Because no one speaks ebonics on this board

Anyways, as far as your ticket, if the guy gave you a break, just PAY the ticket! I would be thrilled if I was pulled over for speeding and was given a nominal no point ticket. Be happy, if he wanted to be a real terd he would have stuck you with the speeding ticket.

Well since I have the FLP's I can swap out the off road pipes for the cats in 5 minutes or so. So I am going to see if I can buy a set of gutted FLP's from someone. Worse comes to worse I will just buy the regular FLP cats and deal with my car being too quiet:(

Ne ways..i just got pulled over!! i didnt even have my V1 on and he claims that i was gonig 70 but i know i was gonig 60 cuz i was still in 2nd gear..but ne ways...i got a ticket for obstruction of view(radar on the windshield) at least i got a break..ne body know how much this is?

Mark,I know the V1 is legal in jerzy..u think if i go to court i dont even have to pay the fines? if its not too much of a hassle i would go through it and save me some money!
Got the same ticket last spring, I believe it was like $45.

To the King of Bench Racing:
When you know what you are talking about, then get back to me.
Until you run your car down the track, don't be accusing anyone of being all talk.
If gutted cats will keep me from getting fined $10k and having the car impounded, then I'll get them. That's not being a wimp, that called being sensible.
But then again, you are about to pay two times the sales tax on a car to resell and make no profit, so sensibility is not one of your strong points

Plus impoundment of vehicle and imprisonment, but not to exceed 90 days.

Cats are NOT to be removed, (FEDS) cats have a 10 year warranty . Muffler shops are not to remove them, by law. $2,500.'s and impound if caught. To stiff for me

First off dont act like your impressing anyone by drviing in a straight line. I think i am going to go out and buy a pet money and teach it how to drag race to prove to you that the driving skills necessary are minimal

If gutted cats will keep me from getting fined $10k and having the car impounded, then I'll get them. That's not being a wimp, that called being sensible.
So pulling the sway bars off your daily driver is considered sensible, so you total your car during the first evasive manuever you are forced to make?

But then again, you are about to pay two times the sales tax on a car to resell and make no profit, so sensibility is not one of your strong points
Never go into a battle of witts unarmed... :nono:
You dont know what i am doing with the car, so how can you tell me what i am going to make or lose, if it turns out its not worth selling then i'll keep it, but i have a strong feeling that its worth my while getting rid of it :yesnod:

Also I work about 15 hours a week...i own 5 cars...property...and i answer to virtually no one...sounds sensible to me :smash:

To try and get things back on the subject, has anyone had a car on the dyno(preferably a Vette, F body or B body) and ran with cats and without to see what the true loss of power is? I haven't seen these results yet, at least on all the threads from all the posts I have read. I know how NJ(let alone the feds) can come down on you like a ton of bricks, so if there is no major loss of horsepower(like more than 10), why delete them? The price of the fines and getting your car impounded should stop you from doing this. I have had cars with no cats(and the rest of the smog equipment deleted), and got real nervous when I got pulled over, but that was when I was younger. I'm 27 now, and i'm not going to support the state gov't, let alone the federal gov't with more of my money, they already take too much as it is. But I can't stop you, and i'm not going to drop a dime either, but you know the laws so don't cry when you get busted. Is it worth it for a few horsepower?

I have chambered exhaust on my 74....its basically a 2-3 foot long pipe straight through, with chambers on the sides....you can look right through it though.....pretty damn loud! Ive never had a problem with the police. Well cause of the sounds anyway
i dont know if anyone else said it, but what about gutting the cats?? might not pass emmissions then....worth thinking about tho.
