I spoke to Billy tonight, and he sounds as good as ever.
He put quite a scare in us, but he is going to be back better than ever.Billy and I have been friends for close to thirty years. It was good to hear his voice tonight.

Get well soon!

Mike

Very glad to hear Billy's doing better.

Still, he'll be close in my thoughts and Melodee will say a prayer for him.

I just read this thread this evening, I'm still in shock, I just got off the phone with Linda. Our prayers go out to Billy, Linda and his whole family for his swift recovery.

Good evening everyone. I just got back from the hospital. I printed out this thread and brought it with me so he could read it - to say the he was very touched would be an understatement. You guys are the best!

My best friend & fellow Ranger fanatic spent the day with us and we all, yes even Billy, watched the Ranger game this afternoon. After the game Billy said "I'd like to go to a game", at which point the DR had to rush in to attend to me and Lynn.

Oh Charlie, Lynn kept saying what a wonderful guy you are ~ must be a Bronx thing

The Mini is back at home. My next door neighbor knows how to drive a stick, so my other neighbor drove him to Red Hook to bring the Mini back here. Right now, I am eating corned beef & cabbage that another one of my neighbor's made me for dinner ~ hey, it is that time of the year

While this experience has been horrible, knowing how many wonderful friends that we has made it so much easier to get through.

Did you try and smuggle Sparkieee in to the Hospital, that would lift his spirits

Glad things are starting to return to normal for Bill and you. Still in our prayers......

Linda, if you need a dog sitter, you can call me.Since I'm laid off, my schedule is open. Maybe I could bring Patti's two Yorkies, and they could have a girl's hen party.

OMG! I haven't been on in a couple days and just saw this. HOLY CRAP! Anyway, I'm happy you were ableto recognize the signs and got it taken care of ASAP! I am very glad to hear Billy, and Chrissy, are recovering well and hope both will be 100% soon.

On a similar note, wife and I did a 35 mile bike ride today. Stopped at a little deli for lunch and looked at their local "newspapaer". There was an article about a lady who stumbled and fell at a party. Didn't think anything of it, and later that night had died of a stroke.

It also had a messaage from a specialist who said if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours, the chance of full recovery are very good. He says to give this test if anyone has a problem that may be a stroke.

Ask them to say a simple sentence, like "the weather is nice today".
Ask them to raise both hands over their head
ask them to smile.

If they fail any of these, get medical assistance immediately.

Again, I'm shocked it happend to Billy, and am very glad to hear he's already on the road to recovery.

Prayers for you all

Tim
