Default Spring NYC Fun Run

So I wanted to start formalizing the Spring NYC fun run.

Before I post the specifics, I wanted to reiterate that this will be open to all make and marques, and as such, I want to encourage people to keep an eye on this thread: http://www.yuppieracing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=63. I will try an attract a wide range of people and cars, so posting fifty different boards becomes a little difficult.

So here are the tentative specifics:

Date: Sunday, April 24th.
Location:
Start Point -- Grant's Tomb, NYC
Route -- (tentative) down the West Side Highway, through midtown.
End Point -- Liberty State Park, NJ
Time: We're going for first light, so somewhere in the neighborhood of 5:30 - 6AM for departure from Grant's Tomb.

I will drive the route and scout start and end point to ensure that we have pot-hole free streets, and a good places to park. Additionally, I am going for nice scenery.

This is all still in the planning stages, but because of request for detils, I thought I would strart planning.

Not to bring up the elitist thing up again but I hope you're not posting this on non-sports car sites. The last thing I want to do is drive around with a honda civic with a wing and a fart pipe and a mercedes C class coupe in New York City traffic. Might as well take the vette out today for my own "Winter run" myself with the 8 million other New Yorkers on the road

It would be nice to get together with some other sports cars like Ferrari's, Lotus's, Vipers, maybe the Lambo guys if they are willing to take their babies onto NYC streets.

(Ricers need not attend please)

Alex -- nucka puh-leeese! Don't insult me like that
Take a look at my last meets, to get a sense of who I am appealing to.

http://www.yuppieracing.com/gallery/lotus_yuppieracing
http://www.yuppieracing.com/gallery/Streets_of_Boston

and just basically browse the gallery -- http://www.yuppieracing.com/gallery/

Yah, I'm hoping for the same type of turn out.

Don't worry I'm not a 15yo kid who is wet behind the ears

Although in all fairness, all are invited, we'll just ask them to ride pax

Also I should be absolutely clear: this is NOT a bonzai run! I've had success in the past because people who attend are mature enough to not be jacka$$es.

I'm in! Sounds like a good time to do it too. With 4 months to get people excited about this and to plan it out, it may turn into one heck of a big cruise!

I'm in. Is there a rain date? (I'm saying that now just to irritate people)

If you hit the West Side Highway just right early in the AM, you catch all the lights green. It is the coolest thing to see a row of green lights every other block as far as the eye can see.

Maybe I'll have my boat at liberty and we can go around Manhattan, depends what March looks like.

OK NABBS>>>..maybe I missed something or looked at the wrong pics...but that last Lotus run....this past weekend had its share of RICERS>....and I didnt notice the fabulous MS Krysy.

And Alex.....are you telling me that if I bring my wifes Honda Civic(cherry condition) after I invest 20K in Mods it wouldnt qualify to be in the presence of your award winning C5 Coupe??
Now whos being elitist....???
(say hi to the wife for me)

Dammit!!! I wanted to race some hotties in a white lamborghini and blow the doors off a ferrari driven by a black priest!!!! "Pull over, we want to bless you!!!!!"

And no, even with 100k in mods, a shined up turd is still a turd. Your wife's gotta either ride with you or get a vette of her own. That's what I did, didn't you see the pink C6 I bought for my wife in the pics from the toys for tots run at Kerbeck?

*hehe*penal*hehe*

I'm with you: planning something 5 months away does seem insane, then again nobody has ever proven me sane. In all seriousness, I'm just trying to drum up some interest for the NY-area car folks. We all work poopy 9-5 jobs, and it's nice to have something to look forward to. We can't all get aggression out like FJB does: putting on his pink heels and hitting the JJ Center

Maybe between now and then we could still hook up and kill an hour or two and get a few laughs in.

Damnit...the heels are RED>...Torch Red like my Coupe. Keep it up and my aggression will be used to see if you can really fit an NYU Med Student into the three rear compartments of a Z06!!!!!!!!!
