Well Sid,
A buddy of mine had never done an Auto-X before last weekend. I let him drive my car, and he beat me in it!

just for clarification to you Supercharged and Turbocharged vehicles....

I have spoken to our tech gods, and according to the WSCC rules, in order to qualify, you must be naturally aspirated. I did a little more digging, and the answer is that you ARE allowed ro run, but you will be classified as an exibition vehicle, and thus unable to win a trophy or accumulate points for the WSCC year end awards. Fun - yes. Trophies - no.
Thanks,
David Wilson / SCC Racing Director.

P.S. - N02 must be turned off at the bottle or you can't run. This is an FAA controlled facility, and you WILL be fined if you spray

Default helmet?

I've never done this before, but am interested. What sort of helmet is required?

It just needs to be either DOT or SNELL approved.

Just checked my helmet, it's DOT but snell M95. Can I still use it.
I heard it has expired for track use.
If so thats a bummer, I only used it twice

Our insurance only requires Snell or DOT - it does not specify an expiration. I am sure if we asked, they would then make a requirement. That's why we don't ask. Your helmet will be just fine.

Can't wait to try out my new meats. I was told I would improve by 1 1/2-2 secs off my time. Haven't autocrossed for almost 2 years now. I've almost lost my nerve, but I think the tires overall, will give me the confidence I need to let it rip!!

Do you need to be at the location by 8am to participate or can you arrive later and get into one of the later run groups?

Dave---strike me out. I'll be at Thunderhill for the SCCA road race school. Couldn't get out of it it looks like. Things might change at the last minute--but probably not.

Be a miracle if I have the Corvette by then... I'm still waiting for Putnam to get an allocation! C'est la vie. They did warn me it could take up to 14 weeks for delivery... hopefully by the next one.

Been having trouble openning the WSCC site.
What are the rollbar spec requirements? I assume verts need them?

nope, no roll bar required. You don't get near any buildings, cars, ANYTHING, so it would be just about impossible to roll the car. You can run with the top down, which most do (I do). You just need a helmet and a seatbelt for insurance reasons.

Hey Glen,
I spoke to Kurt last night and your "Miracle" assessment was confirmed. I'll scratch you for now.
