Here comes the Nissan GTR

As far as 10 second supra on stock turbos I am skeptical. I used to own one and was and am a poster on supraforums. The best bpu car times I had seen verified by time slips was high 11's. Hi hp supras were not uncommon as well as high trap speeds but the car especially in it higher hp mods did better from a roll as it had problems getting the power to the ground.
Theres several in the 10s on stock turbos, just look. There also a few 300ZXs. Heres one that ran 10.9 on the stock turbos, injectors, engine.
His mods:
ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
STOCK Engine
STOCK Auto turbos
STOCK Injectors
JWT Dual POP intake kit
SpecialtyZ Super Split Down Pipes
SpecialtyZ Mid Pipes
SpecialtyZ Xpipe
HKS Hiper Exhaust Mufflers
Unorthodox Underdrive Pulley
80 shot NOS wet kit
ELECTRONICS:
Blitz SBC ID and Powermeter
SpecialtyZ tuned Apexi S AFC fuel controller
JWT base ECU program
HKS TwinPower DLI
POWERTRIX Common ground kit
DRIVETRAIN:
SpecialtyZ custom transmision build up
SpecialtyZ SFI upgraded flexplate
Precision Industries torque converter
PST Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft
NA rear Subframe and Diff
SUSPENSION:
POWERTRIX Ultra-lite Race Coilovers
POWERTRIX Front upper Camber arms
POWERTRIX Competition Tension rods
POWERTRIX Competition Rear Camber arms
POWERTRIX Competition Rear Toe Connecting Rods
Okuyama Carbing front and rear Strut tower Bars
Suspension Techniques Swaybars
SpecialtyZ Subframe Spacers
Both the Supra and 300ZX can see 150HP gains with less then $1500 on modifications. Its not uncommon to see bolt on Supra/300ZXs in the low 12s and high 11s.

Then they should go back to the CAD computer, and rethink the concept....Raw performance/technology and pleasing lines have been fundamental design concepts since the inception of the automobile.
They should at least make an ATEMPT to make it decent looking...
Which it is clearly NOT.

he was saying stock turbos not a stock car. The point being adding a turbo to an engine not designed for it give big gains expensive shortens lnogevity of engine. Removing restricive elements and fuel to an engine designed for a turbo cheaper bigger power gains ( also shortens longevity
) We are drifting from the original topic...
The GTR is going to be impressive with world class performance but is unfortunatly an ugly car.

The power-to-weight ratio just does not add up to the claimed numbers. I know it's all wheel drive. Regardless, I'm sure it'll become an instant cult classic and will be worth tons of $$$ 30 years from now.

We dont know the official numbers, but the claimed numbers have risen since to above 500hp, plus dont think of this AWD as conventional AWD, its got a RWD bias where in the AWD only kicks in when there is slippage, so it works as a RWD off the line with the extra machinery of AWD...

No official times yet, so yes it does matter. Power to wt ratio makes it a bit on the slow side. More like comparable with stock 997s and C6s
Besides, until the car is raced internationally in the ALMS, LMS or FIA GT, its only a wannabe drifter rice car
SuperGT does not count, that is like NASCAR but only in Japan

It sure looks different, guess if there was no C6 i would take it.
But if it's a choice between the Nissan and a C6, well the C6 is gonna win everytime when it comes to looks! Plus i like a V8 under my hood.

I say it'll kill just about anything stock for stock in the 1/8th if the output stated is correct. If it's AWD, I don't car how powerful it is, it's gonna die mid track in the 1/4. I've seen a 600HP WRX Sti and a 500 HP GCJeep SRT8, both with more HP than this car states, both AWD, both similar in weight to that proposed for this car. Neither were in the 11's deep, even with racing tires. The WRX would've been closest to what they are saying, as it was an 11.8 car, the Jeep, being heavier was a 11.9 -12.0 flat car. I'll be very surpised if after all is said and done, there is a $80K car that runs low 11's @3500+lbs from Nissan. More like a $100K that may hit 11.7-11.9's and is 3800-4000lbs, which will totally **** off those GT500 owners, and I'm fine with that.

You have a C5 in your avtar, talk ugly!!
I think the GTR is awesome I love the C6 gen, but never did like the C5, one reason i never bought one and was too young to drive when the C4s were running around, again something i never fancied..
