To each his own.

I LOVE my truck, especially when I blow the doors off unsuspecting "sports" sedans.

It funny how people talk about "another recall" or "recalls" plural. There is only one recall. People hate the existence of this truck so much that they have completely left reality and issued several more recalls in their own little world.

Default Toyota Tundra's Newest Problem To Surface, Harmonic oscillation on the highway

"Because of the specific characteristics of the Tundra’s bed and frame, it is possible to induce a self-amplifying oscillation of the back-end of the truck. Amazingly enough, this can occur at highway speeds as the bed bounces over expansion joints in the roadway.

Toyota has sent a technical advisory to its dealers acknowledging that they been hearing about the problem

"no solution has been identified for the moment but one is in the works and will be made available sometime within the next 6 months (May’08).

"They speculate that the fix will probably involve a change to the rear leaf springs but at a cost to the towing capacity of the vehicle.

"In the mean time they advise that the best course of action involves temporarily weighting the rear cargo area."

We have the new Tundra double cab, and wouldn't trade it for any other brand...used to own a Toyota Tacoma 4x4, but needing a truck with more guts for pulling power of an RV.. Actually have had compliments on the truck, we are all used to it in our vette's, but not my truck...go figure..

There SHOULD be at least TWO more recalls. I'm not sure what Toyota is waiting for. I guess the problems will go away?

Toyota was in the right direction by going after the full size truck market... good on paper but blew it real world.

A truck needs to be robust...its not a car! You can forgive a car for its faults...trucks are trucks...simple yet brutal in performance and capabilities end of story...the Tundra is a let down...

I hate to be so down on this truck but its not rocket science...trucks = simple motoring.

Tundra = catastrophic failure

The camshaft problem went away a long time ago. Only 20 units affected. How long are you guys gonna harp on that? If so, we can go back for years and years and harp on some of the crap GM put out. Does GM issue a recall for every single thing that breaks on their autos? No.

Maybe GM should recall it's 2007 Silverado transmission.

http://blogs.edmunds.com/roadtests/1155

Then I visited this site and in 6 pages of 1 thread, found this many issues. I'm sure I could go to a few of the bigger site and find a ton more.

http://www.chevroletforum.com/m_39390/tm.htm

1. Failure to start.
2. Crappy radio
3. Rattles in the driver side door.
4. Leaks in sunroof.
5. Leaks from rear cabin brake light.
6. Rattling drivers side mirror
7. Passenger side AC not working
8. Transmission shifts poorly (same as above article. Recall?)
9. Tire pressure sensor failure
10. Poor paint quality
11. Cupholders stuck open
12. Lunging after coming to a stop
13. Seat material coming off
14. Active fuel management transition is jerky
15. Rough idle
16. Hesitation while accelerating
17. Poor ride from factory tires
18. Idiots lights and gauges go haywire
19. Windshields washers inadvertly cut on.
20. Seats attract alot of lint and dirt.
21. Humming from rear end
22. Buzzing in speakers
23. Rear passager door child safety lock will not disengage
24. Fan selector know doesn't work

Funny how Motor Trend becomes a unfairly influenced, biased, evil publication when something like this happens, but when an American vehicle is awarded, no such claims are made.
