I guess different strokes for different folks. I really don't see it at all, then again I tend to look at performance primarily in looking for fun cars. I could care less if it's disguised as a pink mid-90's ford taurus.

Its the same with the mustang. For some reason alot of girls flock to these cars. And IMO the 350 looks alot better than the 370. Im just not into ricers at all though. To each his (or her) own.

Ok the more I look at it the uglier it gets. Still is alot of performance for the money.

Take a car like the GT-R, even if it had more performance than a Z06, I still just couldn't live with the styling. Now that car is ugly.

Butt-ugly, guttless for power, handles like a pregnant pig and it's non-American.....kill it before it gets any bigger!

Well, I have a 350Z, and I think it's a cool little car. I like the rev matching transmission. It's fun to drive, but the Vette's another animal in every aspect.
My wife drives the Z most of the time, and she loves it. I think it's a great car for her (small and handles well with enough power, but not enough power to be dangerous).

Very true. Many young girls here in Chicago own the Mustang. Nice looking car the Mustang. The Challenger and Camaro are the big boys though. Very manly looking cars.

Almost forgot you can change the colors of the dash lights on the Mustang. Even pink.

I hate to admit this but 2 things are very true. First, the 370Z is a very nice sports car and has a nice, reasonable price tag. Is it as much as a bargain as a Corvette....no freakin' way!! Secondly, no one ever goes further in their response, but, the truth is that both Car & Driver magazine and Nissan are mostly French owned. You think this is a coincidence ?? I think not! They repeatably diss and demeam anything American. The only thing they like are US dollars. I say, a pox of fleas upon their genital areas would be appropriate.

The 370Z is an excellent and affordable sport's GT. I don't see any need to bash the car; the car's performance is well in line with its' price-just like the Corvette. I would own it if it wasn't for the fact that I can afford the Corvette. Of course, I would own a 911CS4 if I could afford it, and without question I would buy a Ferrari GTB599.

Your name is Mr. Mustang, you don't own a vette, and you write a post telling us how great you think the 370Z is. I just call them like I see them.

It's the exact opposite in my house. Japanese cars actually MADE in Japan is what we buy. The vette was the exception.

If you think these are ugly look at a 350 Z vert. Looks like a turret on a tank with top up. I think the reason that these and other Japanese cars sell well is that all of Americas youth grew up with them. Their idea of performance is making there car sound like my a-- after a night of Mexican food.

Nissan's got itself a winner with the 370Z, especially when you compare it's MSRP with that of other sports cars including the Corvette. That being said the Corvette is really in a different league. Also Nissan has to be careful with the Z though not to price itself out of it's intended market like it did with the 300ZX TT in the early to mid 90s. A 300ZX TT was $45,000 plus in 1996 when Nissan stopped importing them to the U.S.

I think the 370 is way better in person than the 350 and if you dont want to use the rev match feature of the trans, you can always just turn it off.
Looks to me like nissan did a great job. If I was in the market for a new sports car in the 32-33K range it would be right at the top of the list.

Exactly. A nicely optioned C6 coupe can be had for $50k today. A real car, not an imposter such as a Dotsun (oh, sorry, Nissan).

Regardless of what the journalists (that don't buy the cars) say, the 370Z is still a 6 cylinder car that wants to be a Corvette when it grows up.
I do, however, agree with AutoCutter. If I could afford a 599GTB, I'd drive it instead of my Z06, So maybe thats what my car wants to be when it grows up.... NAHH.

It always amazes me how much apples to oranges comparison goes on around here. Remember when the C6 first came out? The magazines didn't compare it to Nissans and mustangs, they compared it to 911's. We should stop trying to push around the little guys and compete in our own league.

Why would someone come to the Corvette forum, decide to join, and pick the screen name, Mr. Mustang?

To me, that's the equivalent of the UPS driver going to work wearing a shirt that says "I love Fed-Ex".
