Oh I'm so sorry if I intruded this great forum without being a Corvette owner..

Is it because I don't own a Corvette that I'm not allowed to start a discussion on the ZR1 brakes in the ZR1 forum??

I'm a little confused

You're not confused, you're just new. Drop Kelly in your ignore list and everything will be fine.

Good luck with the brakes. Rich is the right guy to talk to, but it sounds like you already know that.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-z...s-inquiry.html

Not installing them on a GT but a C5. Pricing should be similar.

Anyone not supporting your interest here with these amazing brakes on such an amazing non-Corvette is a HATER, sorry! Those should just refrain from posting but they can't help themselves since they're haters.

I'd love to see pics of it once you finish the "upgrade"!

I'm not really a fan of Ford but damn the FGT is a work of art with amazing history behind it!

Richie rich is the man!! Post pics when its done, and be sure to complete the "burnishing" procedure, and prepare to have the best brakes on a production car, ever. Oh, and they are lightweight too...

The ZR1 rear pad area is substantially less than the front. One interesting thing to note. Brembo actually trims the ZR1 rear pads to reduce the brake force.. This in a cheap ( from an engineering stand point ) and easy way to reduce brake force but it works : ) ( see photo )

The size of the pad does not effect braking force only brake pad wear rate. All that matters about pads is their coeficient of friction. The area does not matter.
