Calls anyone who disagrees with him a magazine racer; copy + pastes a 10-page magazine manifesto extolling all the on-paper stats and alleged achievements of the newest irrelevant fanboy car. But the front wheels can briefly leave the ground dude, just like any basic bolt-on 4th gen F-body.
Probably doesn't even own a Vette^^^^^
Another tool, I didn't call anyone anything, let alone a "magazine racer", check your facts. And some people do want to read about the achievements Dodge did with the Demon, you don't, then BEAT IT...That's obviously what this thread is about.
And I have about $200K worth of Vettes in my garage, and I'm sure my 900 rwhp C7Z will dust the Demon & I have slips to prove. So no "fanboy" here, just a car junkie that appreciates ALL HP.
You got me. I'm secretly just here to purchase useless Corvette parts for the ones I don't own (and I also don't race them ever, according to the wisdom shared with us in this thread!) Didn't think anyone would catch on.

Read the thread title. You sound like you're looking for your safe space right now.

Cool! My sub-600whp car would get absolutely gapped by yours and a Demon in a straight line.
You are missing my point. Why continue to add more and more horsepower when we already have cars with far more power than can actually be put down (nannies effectively neutralize all that extra go power for 90% of the cars use). Ya I guess it's cool and maybe great for bragging but not very innovative. The Viper VooDoo has something like 800+ hp too but at least that has an aero package and tires designed to keep it planted for a little hope of being able to stay on the road.
They have a car for you..Its called a Toyota Corolla leave these cars to the big boys/girl..Also may want to look into a Prius while you are at it. Grow a pair son.

I have a concern in the back of my mind about government intervention, especially considering the hyper sensitive PC environment coupled by gov over reach we see regularly these days. As we continue to see more and more power added to these cars at what point does a high speed accident draw the attention of the gov? Then we'll be in the ****. Regulations on hp output for street cars for 'safety'. That slope will be real slippery.
Remember it is always someone else fault. It couldn't possibly be the operator of the 800hp 2 ton missile....nope its the deep pocketed manufacture ..... we have to regulate ......
I disagree..because this is their halo flag car just as others have 600+ hp halo flag cars but also cost 60k up to 400k. You don't see any government bugging Bugatti or any other cars and why....because cost(and maybe their regulations are different) and low volume of sales. Its not like they are strapping this motor in a dodge dart for 20k where any kid could buy one. If so then I can guarantee the government would step in but these are cars are generally for older folks who have the means. They don't sell/produce a million a year like corolla/prius. They sell in low volume high price and as long as the fleet meets the CAFE regulations then no ***** are given by the government. I been hearing this since forever and I mean since the fbody/c5 days. Again if every car manufacture stuffed their big boy motor is their economy car then you would have a problem. Until then it's a HP war, but it costly to play in this area..

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
