removing dried compound

what is the best way to remove dried compound, you know the speks that get everywhere when you buff out your car. this stuff is hard to remove

Plain water and a variety of brushes and microfiber towels. I know it's too late but if you mask off glass, trim, and tires similar to when you paint the car, it saves a lot of clean-up effort.

Toothbrush (mild) with some spray detailer. Go around the complete car and use this, then wash off with very soapy water.
