I'm putting new PM pieces on the front end to replace a custom nose. After spending yesterday trying to make some progress, I've come to the conclusion that I need to trim the top section on both sides of the surround before I can even try to get all the pieces pre-positioned before bonding. I have my old original front end pieces and when putting them up to the body came up with this conclusion. The driver side top surround at this point cannot even be laid down because it is too long and can't even be laid over the door. I'm thinking of shaving down both sides s l o w l y until I can at least position the top surround on the car. Is this a normal occurance to trim the piece before I can even get it positioned on the car?
Thanks for the reply. Good think I just didn't just knock it off with one cut - I'm almost there and still on the outside of my "magic marker" line. Will try to finish the top surround fit this afternoon and then proceed to the fenders and lower surround tomorrow.
