Default Paint Code

Settled on a color for my 2000 coupe, Bridgewater Bronze. It is a factory color for Aston Martin. Where can I find which manufacturer produces the color for AM and what the paint code number is? I am not a painter, so please excuse me if this is a dumb question. I have searched the AM site and while they have a number 9565 I am assuming that is their code and not the actual manufacture’s code. Thanks.

As long as you have the manufacturers number and the year it was used ( best if you know what year)...you should be able to call ANY paint manufacturers color library and they could get you the formula. Especially if it is a current color within the past 10+ years or so.

If you want to talk to PPG/NEXA...call 1-800-647-6050 and follow the automated system and you are wanting to get to the "color library". When you get there...tell them what you are looking for and all you need is THEIR paint formula number. Then call you paint store and they can look it up and mix it. OR...you can get them to fax you the formula and you can take that to your paint store.

DUB, OK I found this information for the color I want:

Bridgewater Bronze AST1233

Alternate Coat Finish type VS Type Chip Position Actions

A 2 COAT Gloss Pearl -
• ADD 20% WB2040/WB2043/WB2045 CONTROLLER

IngrdCd Description gram (abs.) gram (***.)
WB2010 CROMAX PRO BC BINDER I 97.4 97.4
WB2030 CROMAX PRO BC VISCOSITY BALANCER 227.5 325.0
WB1013 SATIN RED PEARL 185.0 509.9
WB93 TRANSPARENT BROWN 133.5 643.5
WB1011 COPPER PEARL 133.2 776.6
WB91 TRANSOXIDE RED 115.4 892.1
WB06 BLACK HS 94.8 986.8
WB02 WHITE LS 31.5 1018.3
WB68 DARK VIOLET 23.0 1041.3

(Sorry the cut and paste does not line up correctly, but it gives formula and amounts to make a liter. The site also can convert to quarts)
Is this the info my painter/supply shop will require?

Thanks.

This is a formula for Dupont Cromax Pro waterborne paint. It will only be of value if you painter is currently using this product. If your painter is using another brand or is using solvent based paint he would have to try and convert the stock # to that brand.

Thanks. I have not finalized the painter choice. Meeting this weekend to discuss with two and find out which paints/methods they use.
