Default Quarter Panel Gap

I'm working on a 77. It's had some damage "repaired" on the passenger side. The area in question is what you see when you look up in the rear wheel wheel. The flange where the underbody meets the quarter panel is very neat and tight on the driver side. On the repaired side, you will see in the pics that there is a large gap and it doesn't even touch. I'm trying to figure out why it's that way and see if I can get it any better.

Factory seam on the driver's side.

Repaired side.

I appreciate the CLOSE UP...but I need to see it further back so I can get a perspective of what is going on.

It's a tough area to get a good pic. This is as far away as I can get; laying on a creeper looking straight up the wheel well where the quarter panel and underbody flanges meet. Maybe this helps.

THANKS for the photos.

YEAH...I know it is a pain trying to take photo without shadows that make things look differently than they actually are.

This bonding area may need to be cleaned out and filled in with an adhesive.

That is all I can comment on because the photos are still helpful but with shadows...I am trying to see what you are seeing.

Maybe stick a thin small screwdriver in the area separated.
