Repair cost
I just had someone side swipe my 2000 coupe this morning. Right side door and rear quarter and below door destroyed. Approximate repair amount.

In this scenario...a verbal description is no good.
If you want a 'guesstimate'...a couple thousand bucks....easily.

Thank you Dave, he did have aaa insurance. I just hope all parts are available. There's a real top notch shop in Auburn, Ca. The car help up real well, really surprised.

Thanks for the photos...and from what little I can see...I feel that the frame is below the impact area. NOT SAYING that there may be some floorboard damage.
I can not tell if the right quarter panel is damaged.
I still stand on what I wrote before....and if you are the victim of this accident....you should begin to call the Insurance Commissioner in your state and KNOW what your rights are....so...the insurance company doing the estimate does not try to pull a fast one on you. such as ...for example...in my state....the charges for a rental car are NOT attached to the cost of repair...thus the rental car charges can NOT cause it to total out.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY...I AM NOT joking.....you should NOT be anywhere close to it totaling out. Verify this in your state because the general rule of thumb is...IF the repair costs exceed 70-75% of the vehicles value, it is totaled out....and sometimes insurance company adjusters will total it out if it seems to be getting close....because they do not want any hidden stuff to come up once the repair have started and the repair costs exceed the vehicles value...which makes THEM LOOK BAD. SO...like I wrote above. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
I have had a very few Corvettes over the past 30 years that when the repairs were started...the final cost WAS greater than the vehicles value and it caused for some 'suit and ties' from the insurance company to come in a and see why. They did not like it but like I told them ( along with the owner)....they have not yet reached the limit on what the person has coverage for anyway...what was the big deal??? They did not want to hear that.
SO...it makes sense to me that if the person who hit you have $30,000 coverage for an accident...why would the insurance company not fix your car...especially with you being the victim. Because I have been witness to the insurance company coming in a pay out to the victim, in full, the total amount of what coverage they had...which they are done with it...and then that guy had to sue the guy who hit him for more because the car that was hit was worth $225,000. Think about it. They WILL do it...but only if.
OR...do not do anything and be ignorant to your rights and let them walk all over you.

I don't think that it will get totaled out, and do know my rights in California. Thanks for all your insite, been down this road before, but not with a vette.
