What grit sandpaper is used on a 1988 corvette?

It depends on what you are doing. The lower the number, the larger the grit. You won't use 2000 grit to remove paint or 80 grit to smooth out orange peel to polish.

Knowing what you plan to do with the sandpaper would have been a great help.
