Default Restoration sequence

About to begin frame on resto of my '77 coupe. I will be pulling engine and tranny to detail them and clean up engine compartment. Rear suspension will be cleaned and painted too...interior is fine. Going to give exterior it's first respray.

Soooo....in what order do I do all this to minimize masking(I know there will be lots). I'm thinking spray exterior last....?

Thanks!

My sequence is this and oyu can add or remove what isnnot needed.

1.) Take careful measurements and good photos of door, hood, t-top gaps etc. and other areas of concern so when I put the body back on the frame I know it will be like it was....or not too far off.

2.) If the frame needs the front cradle stretched due to lack of upper control arms shims...I do that and then remove all parts from the frame. Then I get the frame powdercoated or apply whatever the customer wants me to put on it...and do whatever I need to to all suspension parts and brackets, braces etc.

3.) Do all underbody repairs while the body is up on the body dollie.

4.) Install all that is needed such as fuel lines, brake lines, fuel tank, engine/transmission, suspension onto the frame.

5.) Set the body back onto the frame and get it centered/indexed and bolted in place.

6.) Do all body work and get it painted.

7.) Then do all interior work.
