C5 floorboard patch

C5 floorboard patch
Ran over a huge rock in the road, busted up the floorboard pretty good. Anyone have any advice on patching it at least temporarily until I can get another one. TIA

GOOD photos using a good light source when taking the photos is needed Replacing the floorboard on this car is NOT an easy task.... so repairing what you have may be your only option UNLESS you want to spend some serious money on it.

Thanks guys for input, I'll try and get some pics this week. I read there was wood in there, like Rod pointed out, and really just wanna keep the water out at this point until I can get it replaced.

Then get some of that 'Flex seal' tape they sell on TV and cover the area with that if all you are wanting to do it making sure no water can get in.
If I am not mistaken the floorboards are made out of SMC and balsa wood.

The floorboard is a combination of balsa wood and fiberglass with industrial epoxy at the metal braces. The best way to patch it in my opinion would be to patch it with fiberglass. The balsa wood is about 1/4 in thick. There really is no way to " get another one" as you mentioned. Fiberglass is good enough for boats and the majority of the car. It will be sufficient for your repair in my opinion.

I agree that using WEST SYTEMS epoxy resin part #105 and the 206 hardener and mat will repair this....depending on the severity of the damage. Sometimes the resin and is not needed for the repair.
So not knowing how large the damage area is ...there can be numerous ways to repair this. Because often times if the damage area is small. A person is less likely to go out and buy the resin for such a small area and look for an alternative. I keep the West Systems resin on hand so I can use what I need so it is no big deal to be able to mix a small amount.
