Default Another new best

I posted in another thread that I ran a new best last night at E'town. Well, I went to the Corvette Challenge event today and achieved yet another best during a time trial run of 11.148@123.5, with a fairly mediocre 1.64-60'. I followed this up with a first round win running 11.168@123.19 with a better 1.60-60'. The car runs great and with a better 60' will eventually do a 10.9x or better...with me driving, of course. BTW, I do not power shift, so I'm probably leaving something on the table there...but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I'd like to take time to thank the entire ECS crew (Chris, Doug, Marc and John) for guiding me and building me an increadibly reliable car on the track that gets driven back and forth there and is also a "street friendly" car.

Here are the incrementals:

RT....-0.009 (hey, it was a time shot )

60'....1.642

330'...4.649

1/8...7.148@99.46

1000'...9.321

1/4...11.148@123.5

Thanks Ron...I think 10's are coming soon as well.

BTW, I checked the weight of the car (with me in it, of course ) and I'm racing at 3350 lbs...so you can see this is no "light weight" vehicle.

NICE Don!
Now maybe if you wear some heavy shoes (or any for that matter) you might be able to get that pedal down a little farther on your launch.

By the way, when you get that 60ft in the 1.5x range, your 1/8 mph should be up around 101.5

Don, you left too early tonight, there were oil down's, blow ups, driveline breakage....after tonight I don't think I'll ever go back to Etown on a Wednesday night....one run is all I got and spun tires in first second and third. Oh well, after tonight I wish I lived closer to Atco.

Tom,

Actually, I didn't leave early enough...LOL. The track was pretty much crap, the humidity went way up, and there were so many cars we ended up waiting over 90 minutes for our 3rd run. I spun almost thru my entire first run, hit the limiter hard going 3rd to 4th on my second run, and had a pretty bad 60' on my third run...so not a good night, all in all. And then the waiting....

LOL....rev to 5K+, drop the clutch, hammer it and pray. I have the Excedy Dual Disc clutch, and it is virtually impossible (unless you're Robz ) to slip out of the hole. I'm trying different things, but at this point, the best 60' I've managed to date has been a 1.60...not bad, but, not great.
