last night got to have some fun with a c6 vert .....it seems under 100mph i had him and was pulling a little but as the speeds came up he pulled away by 130-140 he was really pulling
my car is
99 c5 a4
3500 tci stall
343 gears
texas speed lt headers no cats
ls6 intake ported tb
texas speed tune
does this make sense????with my mods should i stayed with him??all i can say is that was a awesome looking car(dark blue vert)love those new tail lights
maybe your gears hurt you on the top end, if you had 2.73's or 3.15's you would have kept up better maybe on higher speeds, but im not sure that's what i have been told.
Maybe the Vert was a 6 speed manual? He may have had it in the wrong gear and once he got into his powerband he pulled away. If he was a 6spd it makes sence that he pulled away from you, because manual C6s put down about 350 rwhp stock. Being that your car is a stalled auto I'm guessing you put down 320-330 rwhp. If you had a 6 speed C5 then you might of been able to hang with a Stock C6 from a roll. But, autos are alot better from a stop, so i say you might of been able to take him from a stop.

You've got a great setup (stall and gear) for the street. A 6sp with a few more hp can't match that "torque multiplication" of you auto at low speeds. With the combo you've got now, you may be able to take him on the track, where all racing SHOULD take place. You don't have much oppurtunity to get a car up to 130-140.
Just instal a cam and you should be able to take it on bottom and top.
