I have an '03 Coupe and I was looking to upgrade the air intake, along with other things, however, when I started looking it is confusing about what to buy. There are so many different brands out there K&N, Vararam, Mid America Motorworks, blah, blah, and blah. Does it really matter between all of the different brands. Any help would be great!!!
Can you drive in the rain with the vararam? It says it has catches for water but dosent say if its advisable to be driving in the rain with one. Hows the install time and ease?

Heck ya, the rain is no problem. We in the NW get plenty of it and it's not even a consideration. Just don't forge any streams.
whats wrong with the black wing fellas
Nothing, you'll get great performance from it, but the Vararam will surpass it in this catagory.

I have the blackwing and it seems good to me. I was going to go with the VararamB2 but I heard from an installer that he's seen oil in and near the manifold in some of the cars he had done? I don't know if this is the cause? Also the blackwing is easier to install and clean.
Callaway Honker is my choice. After install got instant seat in pants response. I could feel the difference. Smog legal and looks like came from Chevrolet that way.
Callaway Honker is what I'm switching to from Blackwing
Before your do, you might want to try the "ice box" addition to your Blackwing. I did it to mine and all I can say is DAAAMMMN! Your already 3/4 the way, finish the deal with cold air. I've been running mine on my daily driver with no problems for over 2 years.
Use some "eyeball" sense. Look at the filter area of the Vararam and Callaway. The Blackwing has more filter area. When you add the cold air piece of the equasion, it's a no-brainer. Blackwing with cold air from beneath the radiator shroud beats 'em all.
