Default temp affect track times???

long story short i usually run 8.30-8.50's in the 1/8 2.2-2.3 60' with my FRC i have lg LT's no cats vortex intake ported tb and 180 therm. mph usually 89 those speeds and times were with nittos with outside temp around 70-75 degrees. i went today with new setup linelock, MT et street radials i was hoping for sum great times, anyway temp today was 98 degrees track temp was around 135 degrees and the best i could muster was a 8.0 at 88 mph with my best ever 60' 1.80. i have run 1.96 60' and ran a 8.11 so with my new 60' my et should have been lower 7.80-7.90 so i'am blaming the heat for my lost in et AM I RIGHT???

The heat definitely reduces the amount of power produced by your engine. I don't even go to the track when it is hot outside.

Heat and humidity have a major effect on times and performance.

Your engine loves out side temps of 52-55 degrees. Track may not have as much grip, but your engine loves cold air

with everyone on why your gains weren't much more. Good time to practice.

thanks guys that makes me fell a little better. i feel like with a better temp in 65-70 range i will hit my goal of 7's then it will be time to work my times down lower and lower! i plan on doing a ls6 intake, mgw shifter and looks like a new clutch which looks like that will be a harder decision than i thought any suggestions?
