Default What will she run?

This weekend the local 1/8 mile track opens up.

I just did a cam swap to a Whiplash and tune. Other mods are:

LG Streets, Off-road X-pipe No cats, Borla Stingers, RPM Level IV A4 with transgo 2 kit, stock converter, 2.73 gears, Flip-tie air box mod, Sumitomo HTRZ III tires(Summer Max performance rating)

Prior run with only Borla Stingers it ran 8.57 with a 1.99 60'.

Suppose to be 70 degrees and cloudy at the track this weekend.

Anybody got a best guess of what I should expect?

I'm gonna say low 8's, only because you still have stock converter and gears w/ that big cam...throw in a 3000 stall and 3.73 gears and I'd say mid 7's

I would agree - low 8s

While you've got more power, you havent done much to get it to the ground effectively.

Converter and gears would help with that (as I'm sure you know)

But I think you really should at least get some DRs.

HAve fun, and let us know how it works out

Well I got some longer push rods ordered (7.425) and if they come in tomorrow I'll take it to the track Saturday. I got some valve train clatter when it warms up to 171 degrees and then goes away after it gets to 198 degrees and a few taps of the throttle.

I can foot break it to about 1300-1400 RPM on the launch and burn the damn tires off of it on the street (closed course) spinning all the way halfway through 3rd gear.

Wish I had some DRs.
