what was the breakdown and launch technique? wondering how that C6Z clutch treated you....all the fuss about higher rpm glazing and whatnot true?
makes me want to sell mine for one
The Ls7 clutch is not tolerant to slip. If you try and ride it out it will stick to the floor and the clutch will be glazed.
I would not recommend it for anyone who drag races. It's a nice street clutch with a very light pedal effort.
We literally changed the clutch fluid after every 1-2 passes.
At least in a c6Z you are gorced to come off the clutch just inside of a dump and this causes it to hit hard then slight bog.
The best Gary ran was a 1.66, several 1.7x's and a few 1.8x's.
The car is a beast with a good driver and can run 10's on a 1.7x 60'.
Keep your clutch Kurt.
In the next few weeks I may be able to take a few launches in my buddies Spec Twin clutch. I'll let you know if I can figure anything out.
sweet thanks rob...i was just curious...believe me I do not want to ever remove my clutch ever again...that job sucked...so its staying forever!!!!!!!!
who's your buddy...on here?

The clutch is very difficult to work with. This was our 3rd trip to the track at a T&T. Very first pass, I smoked the clutch , ran about 17.x, & turned the fluid black. Plan on changing fluid every few passes. We experimented with several techniques. We found that a fast release and a quick throttle squeeze worked the best. I do not think that this clutch will hold a 6000 rpm launch but I did not try it. I took the advise from Ranger and Dr. Ron on this. More importantly, I listened to Rob and what he felt would work.
Sorry- Did not read Rob's response prior to posting.

Changing the clutch is easy. I just call Tommy and it gets done.
