Simple poll.
Please choose which car you would consider the fastest on the drag strip and deserves the title of "Fastest Car" for the record books.
Assume there's no timing error.
no brainer. first year i ran car with h/c at t&t lined up with ,a rosch 2.5 stang his time 12.166 at 120.60 mph, my time 11.616 at 118.72 got this off time slip etown 3/29/08 i crossed stripe first im faster

Robz, have you flipped out or what? How many times can we keep answering the same question? Is this really an evaluation of our consistency based on the answers provided. This is a test and only a test so don't be alarmed!!

Man i did not vote, its a tough call, ok here we go. ....... fastest ET without drag wheels or on Oem wheels/tire.
For example;
Maggie car pulls hard like big block or stroker beacuse of lots of torque comes on quicker than centri blower but on the other hand centri SC will pull pull pull....at upper rpm....so which is fast here.
If strictly on track than Iam leaning towards 1st choice though, lower ET that car pulls hard at launch and getting there quicker, thats there the fun is.

Simply put:
The car that traps higher is the faster trapping car.
The car that ETs quicker is the faster ETing car.
Nothing more, nothing less.
But as far as the fast lists on these boards go, ET comes first every time.
i don't agree completely. you have to look at how big the difference is. the mustang had a higher trap speed @ the 1/4 mile BUT the vette would have EASILY picked up that extra 2 mph in the .5 second difference between the cars. check the speed of the vette at 12.166 seconds and i'm sure it would have been higher than 120.60.
so even though the mustang trapped higher, it still took it longer (time-wise) to achieve that speed, making it the slower car
now if it was like a 20 mph difference because one car just couldn't hook, thats a different story
Wait, which part of my particular post don't you completely agree with?
If time slip 'A' shows a trap speed of 140mph and time slip 'B' shows a trap speed of 130mph then time slip 'A' is the car with the faster trap speed.
Same goes for ET. Time slip 'A' shows 11.0 seconds in the 1/4 mile and time slip 'B' shows 10.5 seconds then time slip 'B' is clearly from the car that ET'd better.
I think at least that part of these equations is basically irrefutable fact, no?

I believe there are two points to consider. Quickest and fastest. In drag racing there has always been two records. One for ET and one for SPEED. The fastest car would have the highest mph. The quickest car would have the lowest et. that is how NHRA looks at it.
