Default under rated hp?

hey guys im new here ive had my 2000 base for about a month now, the guy i bought it from said that he had it dynoed on a dyno thats 10-15% under rated and that it produced 360 hp that seems low to me here are the mods on the car:
edelbrock 2206 cam 540/545
z06 springs,valves
z06 clutch
c6 z06 shifter
dual cone intake
straight pipe- dynomax resonators
410 gear
tune
I also heard that having a geared rear end can throw the numbers off, im wondering what you think it should put down, and what you think it will run in the 1/4 on street tires, its a 6 speed. i know ultimatly i should just have it re dynoed myself but im broke lol and i figured you guys see a lot of numbers on here.
thanks in advance everyone

Sorry to say, but i dont think cam, tune, and a Cai,put down 360 to the rear wheels, without headers and intake.

Welcome to the forum.
It is possible. The right cam and the right tune. Could happen.

Nice color car you have.

1/4 mile times will vary. Just get out there and give her hell.

Not sure of the specs of that cam, but my little 224/220 116 made 373rwhp thru 4.10s...gears lessen the numbers ~2%, fwiw I ran a 12.2@117 w/ a 1.9 on 275/40 street tires when I was cam-only

IIRC, Mustang Dyno's read significantly lower than Dynojet ones. I don't recall the exact difference though. Those numbers are probably close for the mods and a mustang dyno.

That would be close to 400 rwh on a Dynojet. I can't see a cam only car without exhaust or intake making that much power, especially with those cam specs.
Get your exhaust/intake/pulley completed and you'll pick up another 30+ to the ground.

The car has full exhaust minus headers, I have a few questions, would the car benefit from a set of pacesetter shorty headers? Also what is a good affordable intake I looked at fast but they're expensive, I saw a couple on eBay that looked alright but I'm not sure which brands would be best bang for the buck, and as far as pulley I figure you mean under drive pulley? What kind of gains will that make on an ls1? I'm coming out of a dodge srt-4 so v8s are a new world to me, I searched this forum for a newb section but couldn't find anything on basic upgrade paths or anything like that. Any and all info you guys can provide to me would be greatly apreciated, I've dreamed of having a vette my whole life and now that I have one, I feel like there is a lot to learn. My srt was around 320 to the wheels and would run high 12s on a slick. Thanks for all the replys so far everyone keep the insight comin

Lots of good folks on here that can help you out as well.

Well you've come to the right place. Most of the guys in this section run their cars pretty hard and know what works.

Pulley = underdrive pulley. Small gains bit a lot of labor involved. Most say not worth it unless you're doing a cam change at the same time.

Shorty headers are not really worth the money. Get longtube headers. Kooks, American Racing, LG. All good brands there. Sometimes you can find them used in the forsale section.

12s with an SRT-4 is nice.

Enjoy your new to you vette!

Cool thanks guys, what kind of gains are typical for a decent intake? As for the color comment earlier it is a really nice blue too bad they didn't do a better job spraying because it didn't cover in spots and looks cloudy which gives it character I guess, but hey for 8500 I'm not complaining

Unless you're going for a max power build, the LS6 intake is perfectly fine. I believe, unless it's been changed, you have the LS1 intake on your engine.

With a bit of patience, you can find them for sale here for about $300.

So, get long tube headers and an LS6 intake and get it retuned. You'll have a nice runner. With a good tire, and a bit of practice, you could see 11s

Only go with Kooks if you're a glutton for punishment. That install nearly killed me. The rest of the header brands are easier to install.

No kidding.

I still have yet to get a decent pass since my headers went on. Hell, haven't driven the car more than 2k miles in the last year.

I'm sure there are some who have.

Please do more searching on here for threads about them - they are shorty headers right?

In my opinion, and most others here will agree, if you're going to spend the money to buy and install headers, get a long-tube style.

You will see more HP gains - and that's the goal, right?
