Default Tips for first timer

Heading to the track for the first time in my new to me 02 Z06. I have a fair amount of experience running my GS1150 Suzuki, and my old Grand National, but have never run a stick shift car. Car will have 26x11.5 ETs, AR longtubes,x w cats, Borla catback, vararam, LS7 clutch and RSD C6 shifter. What is recommended launch technique? Thanks in advance for any info.

The clutch will be your limiting factor as can't handle heat very well and the tires are going to hook hard assuming good track prep. I'd start with 20 psi in them especially if you're not running skinnies to cut down swaying on the big end. Keep your burnouts short(first smoke) as this will make the tires less sticky. You want to keep from dead hooking which breaks parts and puts more strain on the clutch. Good luck, Chris

This is good reading.

For the first couple of passes, you should come out like you are leaving quickly from a traffic light. This will assist you in getting use to the clutch release which should be relatively quick but not a dump. You will most likely bog but that's better than breaking parts. Launch rpm can be increased as conditions permit. As Chris stated, this clutch may present some limitations. Based on experience with this clutch in my C6Z when it was stock, it would not hold when the RPMs were sustained above 4200. Two things that destroy parts are wheelhop and deadhooking. You will just need to be a little careful but your tire selection is a good choice to mitigate most wheelhop and is more forgiving than DRs.
Good Luck and let us know how you make out.

Compared to your GS1150 it should be a walk in the park. As you know, traction issues are a whole lot more sensitive on two wheels.

Best of luck.
