I have never gotten a pic of a kingfisher. They are so fast and elusive in florida.
definitely didn’t have the zoom to get it well but i believe this is a kingfisher in great swamp nj. Shot at 400mm on a small island probably 1000 feet away.
Had a harrier 20 feet from me today and hadn’t set up the camera for birds yet and got zero shots. So mad at myself. Next time i will not leave the house without having it ready to go.
Today I spotted a beautiful large bird of prey, had a white speckled belly and was quite large in the sky. I figured out where it had landed and drove over to that direction, and I saw the bird in the tree. as soon as I open my car door, it took off. I would’ve tried to shoot from inside the car but it was on my passenger side and I couldn’t get the angle to get a picture from inside the car.
I was upset because I had my camera with me and it was on the proper settings ready to go and I still couldn’t get the picture
i went out today and saw a northern harrier but too much tree cover couldn't get a descent pic. and then when i came home i stepped out of my car and looked up and there was an eagle flying overhead. got a few snaps of it but very high in the sky not worth sharing. and then much earlier today i found this guy
