One BIG thing I haven't seen anyone bring up is that the Convertible DOESNT let water in when it rains heavily, and my coupe did because of the removable top
(it hasn't happened to all, but i was one of the lucky ones who thought they had a tight seal only to find out otherwise the first time it rained, dealership wasn't surprised by it)
As others have noted, the coupe is definitely louder than the 'vert, due to the extra rear cargo space. Also, the coupe can get LOUD with the top off when you go over 50mph.
Overall, I've enjoyed my convertibles much more than my coupes.
A vert that doesn't let water in during very heavy rains should be considered a gift. Not that all convertibles leak....some don't...but I learned many moons ago that if your vert has a drop or two of H2-O come in during heavy rain and or a car wash.....don't worry about it....lOL...
i like the a/c on if its hot and the heater on if its cold so see no reason to ever want a vert.
Verts have A/C and heat, and they work very well.

I would have to disagree; my new sound system completely drowns out any wind noise, and at highway speeds of 85+. The stock Bose system is crap in a vert.

If you purchase the vert make sure the top when opening does not hit the tonneau cover which is common. The straps (2) stretch and has to be retightened as per TSB or order new ones. I love my vert
I have a 2005 with manual top and the rear lip of the top will hit the tonneau cover if I do not hold it back. Do you know what the TSB is?
This is my first Corvette and I just had to have a convertible. Last year I decided to pull the trigger and found a low mileage 2005 in immaculate condition. Even though I wasn't looking for a high visibility color (I am 63 yrs) I bought it because it had everything I wanted............except it is an Automatic. But quite honestly cruising the back roads which I find myself doing on the weekends and occasionally driving to work, the auto is nice. Compared to older convertibles it is very quiet with the top up and has virtually no rattles, creaks or perceptable cowl shake. They did an amazing job with the chassis and body structure.
Thanks Scott

Reason: sp
I have not owned a conv. Vette. I have owned other conv's, though. I have had 2 corvettes, a C5 and now a C6. Both have the Targa top. Personally, I like the Targa tops, but I always feel like it's a compromise. Sure it opens up when you take the top off and it's nice with it off, but it's just not the same feeling as with a convertible.
If I every get the coin to get another vette, it will be a convertible.

TSB #09-08-67-013C. Any dealer can print you up a copy. Good luck
You can't go wrong with either one. If you get a convertible and have second thoughts about your purchase let me know maybe we can work out a trade for my coupe.
We travel a lot and like having a trunk, and open air when you want it.Our daily drivers are not verts,so the vert is something different and we really enjoy it.Now on our 3rd one.Coupes are for chickens.

I was just washing my convertible this weekend and was thinking that. Even directly spraying all the seals front and rear with a hose and not a drop went in the car. Never had any water come in, even in the worst rain storms.
I have had several of both and I will say this "You can roll down the windows, take off the top, but you will NEVER get the open air feeling or view of a Convertible in a Coupe!".
