Bought my 08 (only 1500 miles on it) Nov 2015. Traded it on a 2012 GS early this month and the 08 had 9800 miles on it so I put a few miles on it! Not a daily driver but does get driven! Oh and the 12 GS only has 14000 miles on it so 2800 a year!!

Sounds like someone came in with a bunch of out of control kids. Seen it before. For some reason young ones like to climb on and jump all over cars. Parents didn't care as their own cars were already trashed by the children they have.

I don't think this has anything do with the condition of the car after you own it. It is more of a question of the dealership taking care of the car when they are trying to sell it. Regardless if I was buying a garage queen or a daily driver, I expect that new car to be as flawless as can be.

On the detailer forums they call that DISO. Dealer Installed Swirl Option.

I always look at the Corvettes on the floor at the dealer. I am amazed they dont clean them up better. especially the exhaust outlets. They never polish them. 5 minutes of work would make it look new not like a used car. When I bought my 08 I took it home and didnt have them clean it I do a better job and care more plus I got $4 worth of change out of it!!!

42,000 miles on our `10 Grand Sport, driven from the west coast to the east coast and back. But because I enjoy detailing and making it look good, I'm labelled a garage queen?

no you would probably fall into the category that the one on the showroom was clean as hell.

You might try reading the OP before commenting on it.

The subject was about cars in dealership showrooms being dirty.

The museum delivery cars are as perfect as they can possibly be from the assembly plant. Highly detailed and inspected before delivery.

From the dealer, not so much.

I bought my car from a dealer over a year ago . The cars outside had water spots from their sprinklers and had to be detailed before the purchase. It looked like dirty water with some debris with the water drops. They just do not care. All of the cars had these spots on them. I told them to clean the car so that I can look over the body. Disgraceful. Newer vettes just as bad. They still sell their cars.

What do you care about someone else's car? What another owner does, or does not do, with the car that they pay for, not you, is none of your business nor concern.

Next time try actually reading the thread before commenting.

Lots of mouth from someone who doesn't know what any other owner does with their car.

Oh, and it's "their" not "theyre." The word "they're" has an apostrophe in it anyway, so either way, learn how to use spellcheck.

I love garage queens! I went through a lot of trouble to buy one. Even I don't get to drive it as much as I would like, between NJ weather and work. But that should be a separate thread. This thread is about dealerships and the way they treat their cars. When buying a new car, I expect it to reach me in as perfect condition as possible. Especially when buying a toy that was built to attract attention with not only its performance but also its looks.

I didn't have time to use spellcheck, I was out driving my vette
