Last year was really great and I know it was lot of back and forth with the DIS folks to make that happen, so at the risk of speaking for others I don't think we're going to get upset with you if this year isn't quite the same.
Still, I wish you luck and will call you on Friday. If I end up in Will Call (still holding out for comp tix) I'll come over Friday night and see if I can meet up w/you then and help any way I can. Don't forget the CF.com banner!
ooo. that could be interesting. I have 4 in my party and we are beer drinkers. Certainly would be willing to contribute.
Another question....I am just going for the day on Saturday. ANy chance I would get blocked in if I go on the infield? It would suck to be stuck there for 24 hours. I know that when I went to 12 hrs sebring, it wasn't a problem. But I think daytona infield is smaller.

The infield is smaller, however there's plenty of roads, i don't forsee you getting blocked in...its never been a problem for me in previous years.
OK, that just about settles it...Keg of oooh say AmberBach?
To bad they wouldn't give you guys a spot in the infield. That's Daytona for ya. I'm going over on Friday and will be bringing the Vett. Were do you guys usually go? I'll be in the infield somewhere and would like to meet up with some forum members. I'll be there Sat and Sunday with the Trailblazer. Not much of a beer drinker but I always contribute to a good cause. Hope to meet up.
hay chris the jax crew will be down later on saturday after going
to old town for the ncrs show. Jim will call you as we hit town about
2 or so. I think we have 6 maybe 8 cars coming

I plan to cruise over FRIDAY around 2:30ish or so...i'll probably bring the Suburban, as ivé got a big tent forum table clotch and such.
I usually try to go as close to the infield track as possible...this time i will do the same, but try to pick a less populated area to try and save some room.

Sounds good! Hearing while the race is going on is very hard, which is why i've been suggesting people figure out where i am, Friday night when there is no racing going on.

Hoping you meant Friday at 2:30? Saturday at 2:30 the infield will be pretty full, unless you meant AM.
I'll be in the infield as well. I have one of the all access tickets so I can pretty much go anywhere I want. Leave me a message on my cell phone when you get settled and I'll catch up with you. See ya this weekend.

My tentative has turned into more of a likely.... at least for Saturday. I'll probably end up at the track around 12-3pm. Are tickets easily purchased onsite or is it a PITA?
What are the details regarding food/drinks? You mentioned a keg, so I'm guessing that is permitted. Are grills and/or fires permitted? It would sure be nice to kick back, bbq some shrimp, mahi, steak, and listen to some loud exhaust and smell racing fuel fumes.
I'll be heading back to Orlando Saturday evening unless I can find a low-cost place to spend the night.
Grillin...I think i'm goign to bring some steaks, chicken, ect. to grill up. The keg seems iffy..but i will have a cooler over flowing with beer. The bottles are easier to take with you.
Adrian, you can stay for free in the infield...bring a tent!

Nice work, Chris!
I'll be cruising over tonight to grab my tix from Will Call, and I'll give you a shout when I'm near DIS to see if there's anything I can do to help or just to stop in and say howdy. Can't wait til tomorrow!
Just got home from hanging with Chris for a bit in the staging area outside DIS. That's right, there is apparently no camping or infield traffic allowed except RVs (motorhomes) and paddock traffic until 6AM Saturday.
Soo, not only has Chris brought tons of snacks and beverages and some tents and such with which to stake a claim for us, he's also camping in the parking lot to keep his place in line for the 6AM 'parade'. He's roughly 50-60 cars back from the front, so we should be ok as long as the area we want is not already claimed by the speedway folks.
If you make it out tomorrow, and if you have a place to park with the CF crew near the Ferris Wheel where he will head tomorrow at 6AM, be sure to tell him thanks for hooking us up.
