Again other forums do not have the same rules about posting information. We have purposely tried to be low key here on CF because of all the controversy.
All we want to do it let people know there is a mountain run on this day. The last 3 runs we have done have averaged 15 to 16 Corvettes. We have folks from many different clubs come to them with no problems. Everyone has a great time and enjoys themselves and the their wonderful cars.
I look at it this way. The more mountain runs the better. I love to drive my car.
still avoiding the fact of the matter that certain members of your group have disrespected this site, disrespected me, and a few other members - disliked it here to the point you created a new group, yet keep coming back in here and 'stirring the pot' so to speak.
I have nothing against these groups getting together, and in the past have had no issues with any other groups until now. Certain members of your group have personally attacked me and a few others (some of your members have already been banned as a result) and you expect us to be okay with that?
Interesting reading. The mountain runs are dangerous on dry, good road conditions. When you have a group of cars following closely in a group, the local residents going about their business, and motorcycles going at the speed of light it can be a very dangerous situation. Then there's that possibility of the cow crossing the road just around a curve.
I've planned events and it can give you an ulcer trying to know ahead of time what should be done. You don't have a crystal ball and you can't control the weather. So, I learned to get the cell number of everyone who is signed up to go JUST IN CASE I needed to call to cancel or whatever communication is needed. Just get the numbers.
Make a list of all who have said they'd be there. Takes a little work but you don't get in a panic if you need to call it off at the last minute.
Don't beat Jo up over this. This isn't a high-paying job, y'know. She did what she thought was right and safe for everyone. And all the fuss just takes the fun out of it. We're all Corvette family here and in the best of families there are squabbles. Take it for what it is, don't make it a personal attack, and move on to better times. There's plenty of room for everyone.
If my health holds out I'm looking forward to getting together with y'all asap. And thanks to all who plan these things! Can't have too many drives in the Corvette !!

Sorry Jodi, but right now you are the one lashing out. Please let things go. You can not hold a whole group accountable for the actions of a few.
I am one of the founders of that group and I love this site and have never said anything negative about it. If not for CF I would have not met so many great people and learned half the things i know now about my car.

I do not hold the entire group accountable for what has happened - only those who directly played a part in all that occured in here. It's been an astonishing 3 days since someone in your group personally 'attacked' another member of the CF group......so I have every reason to be upset that the renegades are still in here causing trouble.

Ok then, so please refer to the individuals and not the group. Please let it go and take up your issue with the individuals and not my club. We have over 30 members and the majority do not even know who you are. I myself have never met you.
Just as a reminder about the forming of our club, here is the original post (by Daddyrama31):
Interest in forming a group in North Georgia (title)
We are organizing a club in the north Georgia area including Gwinnett, Barrow, Jackson, Hall, Forsyth, and anyone else who would be interested. There is no fee to join, the only requirement is you have to love vettes and life. Please PM me with your information if you have interest in joining. We will attend GA events coordinated by the GA events coordinator as well as host our own, including mini mod days, cruses, and road trips to cool places which all who wish to attend will be welcome with enthusiasm. Looking forward to your responses.
As you can see, we invited everyone and even said we would continue to attend events put on by the CF group (well, that part didn't work out).
This is going as well as expected....funny until I ask for someone to be an RC no one wanted to do s***...now all of sudden we have a bunch of Monday morning quaterbacks and whiners. For the longest time there were no events really being planned in GA then I saw Jodi posting thread after thread so I ask her to be the RC. I am sure if she knew what kind of crap she would be getting I am sure she would have ask me if I was crazy. Despite all the she has hung in there and tried to still do things. You would think that after all this time the groups could come together and actually have some nice size events but apparently not. In the words of my friend Jersey Jay, "Its a frickin internet message board....its not life and death"
It has become alot of work to monitor all the ...we have a rule that covers that. Please don't make us use it.
Not that my opinion matters or is even heard for that matter. However, I look forward to meeting people no matter who organizes an event. All should be united to one cause and cross pollinate with each other to create a great experience for all automobile enthusiasts. Keep up the good work in bringing Corvette owners together no matter how strange the road may be in getting there.

Agreeing to be a RC or EC on this forum (let alone being a mini, meanie or mighty mod) should be relatively easy because everyone just loves their Vettes and driving/showing them. But as we see, it isn't always the case. Since I have been an EC on this forum, I've tried many events, both in my home state of NC and in SC, TN and GA. Some have had booming success and some have failed and will not be tried again. I can live with both because at the end of the day I always learn a valuable lesson from someone.
I use this forum to learn, to inform, to communicate and to enjoy my Corvette ownership experience and hopefully help the ownership experiences of others. It's that simple folks.

All this over one event that was cancelled the night before due to rain!
A. You can't promote another forum or club or Corvetteforum.com. It's a violation of the sites guidelines.
B. No hostility towards other members.
C. You have a GA RC to help promote and put together events, work with that person, not against them.
D. Attack ideas, not people.
Here's the bottom line:
If there are any more attacks posted in a public venue on this site or via a PM I have the solution. I can arrange an all expense paid vacation no charge. We serve 3 hot meals a day, turn down service, all transportation included and it's co-ed as well!
If anyone wants me to make travel arrangements for them please feel free to give me a reason.

From what I read I agree with Robert 100%
What everybody doesnt realize is people look to the RC in that region for events and believe me when I tell you, its hard enough to set up and keep head counts as it is. Now factor in the unwanted BS and there you have a hornets nest of bad fealings and hostility. Bad blood on here will bad blood and it is everywhere on the CF forum not just in this little section! I would suggest to steer clear of each other and your problem will be solved but poking at the other person will cause Ban Camp to get a new bus load of people.

Just a few thoughts from the NorthEast

FYI, I hate to disable any members account. I would much rather try and bring someone into the light.

Jay I agree with you, but it was over alot more than just an event canceled over rain. It has been brewing for months and has been stirred by both sides.
I think we are all ready for it to be over and move on.
I'm not a "member" of any group, but I met a few folks from here at the Year One event this summer. They seem like a good bunch of people that shared my love of driving their cars. They are drivers, not waxers. In my opnion, too many Corvette owners seem to only drive their cars from the garage to the car show and back, and only if there is not a cloud in the sky.
I was planning to attend the mountain run that caused all of the furor and I was glad it was moved to Sunday as I didn't relish the idea of driving aggressively on wet roads. Despite the fact that it didn't rain as predicted on Saturday, I felt rescheduling was the best idea. People listen to the radio and watch the news on TV, so when rain is predicted on an event day, logic would tell you to monitor the board in case it is cancelled or postponed.
When I monitored the board and saw all of the bickering, I decided not to attend at all, or even get involved. This is a pleasurable and serious hobby of mine, I've had performance and track cars all of my driving life and that's what it's about for me. I don't have the time or desire to get involved in petty politics, so I'll just keep my distance.
It's a shame too, there really isn't another group in the area that shares my interest using their cars for what they are intended.
I'm sorry, but, it is about the cars....and sharing the enjoyment of driving them with other, like minded people. At least for me.
I hope you get things straightened out. Have fun...................

Scott, it was great to meet you at the Year One event that was held at Road Atlanta. You met Yamahajo, Handful, BryanZ06, 93Polo, GotPSI, and myself.
We sure had a good time. We even got some laps in on the track that day. Sure was a fun filled day.
Something all of us forgot in all this mess. That Saturday there was a Top Of Georgia Corvette show at Brasstown Bald that we wanted to stop at. Skipsville was involved and we told him we would stop in. It was a rain or shine event ONLY on Saturday. We did stop in and had a good time looking at all the different show Vettes and talking to Skip.

Hey Jersey, since my post from that day is included in this thread I'm going to chime in. I also still believe that there was no personal apologize from Yahamajo required. Yamahajo made a call partly for potential safety reasons.
I generally try and stay out of things like this in my personal life, however in my professional life I deal with this stuff every week. In almost every situation the problem can be traced back to communication. Could things have been communicated better. ... Absolutly... but it can't just be laid back on Yamahajo. Communication is a 2 way dialog. Questions must be asked. One guiding principal for me is that "Reasonable people with equal information seldom disagree" What we have to ask is what did we learn from this situation and how do we not make the same mistakes in the future?
Since all this went down I have made runs with both groups. I can tell you that I have meet many of the folks, on both sides, that were upset. In my opinion they are all, very nice, reasonable folks. I also agree with cyclonend that folks are ready for this to be over and ready to move on.
Who will be the first to offer the olive branch?
