I already did. 06/24/08, 10:14pm in a PM....I actually used the words olive branch, and forgive and forget. I still have the PM for reference. There was nothing in the reply regarding any forgiving or forgetting. I have that PM as well.
Sorry...I tryed.

(sigh) I guess I was wrong... apparently I'm not done in here.

I generally try and stay out of things like this in my personal life, however in my professional life I deal with this stuff every week. In almost every situation the problem can be traced back to communication. Could things have been communicated better. ... Absolutly... but it can't just be laid back on Yamahajo. Communication is a 2 way dialog. Questions must be asked. One guiding principal for me is that "Reasonable people with equal information seldom disagree" What we have to ask is what did we learn from this situation and how do we not make the same mistakes in the future?

Since all this went down I have made runs with both groups. I can tell you that I have meet many of the folks, on both sides, that were upset. In my opinion they are all, very nice, reasonable folks. I also agree with cyclonend that folks are ready for this to be over and ready to move on.

Who will be the first to offer the olive branch?

Unfortunately everyone didn't have the same information...
Admittedly, some should have posted their situation so that Jodi would have that information instead of just getting mad.

Handful, would that be like this "olive branch" that you posted in the
now locked thread: [Georgia]: North GA Sunday, August 24th Mountain Run

Apparently I should have tryed to continue to talk things through with Dave and company instead of letting you get in the middle of it all. Lesson learned. God only knows what exaggerations and untruths have been told to them by you. Excellent, nice work.

You didn't hear that I had a black Porsche (it's grey actually), you saw it, stuck your head inside it, and spent the day driving with it when you went on "that" mountain run with us. Or do you deny that now?

Just what is meant by "that" mountain run(which you were a part of)????

Trying to stir the pot again?? Hmmmmmmmm......
Wow Handful, where did that come from? I never told anyone any exaggerations or untruths, on either side. I spent a lot of time and PM's trying to patch things up, to no avail.
Ok, the Porsche was gray... sorry for mis-remembering it and yes I was on that run, never said I wasn't. "last I heard" meant that I haven't heard that you sold the Porsche, not that I heard you had one. I was in no way putting down anyone or anyone's choice of vehicle. I was just responding to Dixievet's post that seemed to imply I was putting down the Porsche ("at least it's not a Cavalier").

As I said, I think that Porsche is a great car!
I also thought the AO Vette was a gorgeous vehicle and I was sad to see you sold it.

"that" mountain run was merely letting those who know about that weekend know which run I was referring to. Nothing bad was implied or should be interpreted from that. I fully enjoyed that Sunday (and Saturday too).
Did you not see this post?:

...
If you have some problem with me, send me a PM and let me know what I've done to upset you.

Stephen
I'm still waiting for that PM.

well I am glad to see we are getting this all out there...dunno if this is gonna make it better or worse but it is certainly enlightening especially to some folks who have accused the moderators of taking sides when in fact those people have not been privy to alot of what has gone on behind the scenes so to speak. I have had alot of folks PM me and ask why we did something that on the surface appeared one sided or unfair in the middle of all this. I think now perhaps people are seeing what we have already known...there is alot of things that never make it to the open forum or are removed before everyone reads them which goes into why we do what we do.

I think you all need to have one big GTG share a everyone apologize for what you did or didn't do, say etc. and move on. I don't care whether you think you did anything wrong or not...ultimately what would it hurt to say, "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding" and move forward. It won't kill you...I promise. Of course this will take some effort on everyones part and hopefully you can all agree on a time, and place but it would sure be nice to have this resolved soon.

Can someone or a couple of you PLEASE organize this event.

Well put pewter99.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding and any part I had in it. As of this post I have moved on and the slate is clean.

I look forward to the day, and hopefully that's today, when we are one big happy family again.

In the name of fairness Steve, I am posting what you wrote that set me off below. You did a fair job of coming back and CYA on the Porsche thing, but you're not off the hook on the rest. You meant something by using parenthesis around the word "that", and we all know it wasn't to differentiate between the Saturday and Sunday run. I heard from a very reliable source that some in your club/forum group were telling lies about the way something went down "that" day with a certain white Corvette. I am not going to promote that lie by responding to it.
I will however say that Jodi is right. You all split off from here by making an announcement that you were doing just that(splitting off), started your own forum, and then come back here regularly to stir the pot. You don't follow protocol by working with the RC (Jodi), and continue to post events such as the 09/28 run you have planned.
Lastly, and this should be obvious, there will be no more peace offerings from me. Those in your group/forum that started this (and you know who you are) made their bed, and now they can sleep in it. Stop posting events for the purpose of stealing folks away from this forum to join yours, and to turn them against Jodi if possible. Please enjoy your own forum/group, and let us who stayed loyal to this forum and Jodi get back to the peace we had before this all got started.

Yeah, that was Cyclonend - Handful sold his AO Vette and last I heard he has a black Porsche (took it on "that" Sunday run).

Please go back and re-read my earlier post... I highlighted in red the part about what I said. I meant exactly that, nothing more.
We have been on numerous runs since then and I was identifying the particular weekend I was talking about.
If you chose to take it some other way I can't help that, and I'm sad that you chose that course.
All I know about the white corvette is they decided to drop out... and that is of course their right, for whatever reason they did so.

Splitting off? Please point me to that post. I must have missed it.

I agree with Pewter99 - we need to get together and let bygones be bygones. I'm still not mad at anyone. Just sad.

Let me go through your post one by one.
1.) I am sorry that a simple "that" angered you so much. He was simply referring to the weekend that blew all this up.
2.) I am a founder of the club and i have no idea about what you are talking with this white corvette thing. All I heard was that folks had a good time on your run.
3.) We made announcement that we were forming a club. The announcement was made here on the forums and everyone was invited to join. We never intended leave this forum. Why would we?
4.)How are we not loyal to this forum? We post every event we have here inviting everyone to join. We get folks from almost every Atlanta based corvette club joining our runs. Like i said everyone is welcome. We are not trying to steal folks. That is absurd... We formed a club to have a more formal organized group. Doing this also allowed us the benefit of registering with NCCC. That gives every member a million dollar liability insurance policy.

We like this forum all of have met each other because of this forum. Why would we leave? We have over 30 members and most of them have never heard of or met you or Jodi.

Please let all of this go and move on.

Thank you for posting that Jodi

If you read those posts you will see that everyone is invited. We were forming a club and it was open to everyone to join.

I also could not post a link to the site because it is against CF policy.

Again thank you digging those up

Well now that a number of you have aired how you fell are we ready to move on and put this all behind you?

Like Pewter said it's time for all of you to have a GTG and just enjoy, I concur.

If someone doesn't agree with us my best advice to you would be not to get involved any further on this subject.

Jay I can speak for the club and tell you that we are ready to move on. We have asked everyone to chill and let things go.

The next formal gathering we have is the mountain run on the 28th. Everyone is invited to attend and i do mean everyone. I am done with all this drama and ready to move on.
