Yeah, speaking of "damage". My buddy who painted my 78 crashed his 1400 hp alcohol El Camino 2 fridays ago down at Sunshine. Went tail over nose at around 120 -130 mph. Caught on fire even. Broke a few vertebrae and is cut up, but other than that, he's OK. Kinda walked away. The car is toast though.
I prefer to run on road courses, where its "safe". He and I always joked about that.
Sorry to hear about your buddy.. :( .. at least I don't have to worry about doing that in my car..I'd need 800 more horses plus to get to that point... :D

That was a NASTY wreck! That car was one of the baddest at the king of the street/strip series! The car did what it was designed to do though, kept him alive! We hope to see him back soon...he ran low 5's - high 4's in the 1/8th!!!
Yes, he has been consistently in the 4's. I talked to him again today. He is feeling a lot better, but still not sure if he is going to continue racing. You know, he was a hell of a motorcycle drag racer on the verge of going pro when he had a bad crash that ended his (motorcycle) drag racing career.
Here's a picture of him working on my car :D

That would be sad since we all admired that beast!

You are running every 4th Saturday if I read all the posts correctly. I am in the area the 19th, dang :( . I was looking forward to a little Corvette Challenge during my short trip.
Sounds like you have a great response so far. To anyone who has never run before, I can relate but as of 2 weeks ago I made the leap and had a blast :D . Give it a go and I bet the majority would not hesitate to go again  .

Hey gypsie! Come down in Feb. when it is really COLD up there! Invite is always open!
Can we see an updated list of us who have signed up? Will their be other cars using the track at the times of this event?
Thanks,
There will be other cars there each event, it will be on a normal Test & Tune part of Saturdays, so invite anyone who has a car to Test & Tune. The vete only bracket eliminations start at 12 noon, and other cars will wait between rounds as we get the track. There are about 20-25 committed so far, with another 5 or so maybees.
The site should be back up as TBrewing is working on it as a volunteer and is donating his skills to the cause....you can see a list on the site, but it is only about 1/2 of the participants.
