Default Don't Forget about Nevada

Maybe Nevada should be split and join the So. Cal. or No. Cal. sections

Just a idea.

I always thought it would be easier to find threads in an Area if in the Title you would put the date and location.

3 sections would be a good idea. Most California events are too far away for us Washington people.

A Pacific Northwest section would be great! As for California, well... the State of Jefferson movement is alive and well, as I noticed on my way through there last week. But, that's for Californians to debate!

By the way -- the section of Hwy. 199 between Crescent City, Ca. and Grants Pass, Or. is a fun place to exercise the vette..... for those with nerves of steel!

Kinda like it the way it is. I like seeing what the other areas are up to. Might influence me to take a road trip now and then. If the PNW people want their own section then that's cool too. But I think you should leave all of California together.

I am with Chuck on this one... if people would follow a simple formatting rule when creating a title, things would be so much easier.

I would suggest:

[State] City/Region - Event, Date

So, for example:

[CA] Torrance/SoCal - Edelbrock Tour, April 23, 2005

or

[WA] Seattle - Bay Area Cruise, July 3, 2005

That would solve this problem without resorting to multiple areas. CA may be a large state, but certain events, such as the upcoming ALMS race, interest all of us. That would mean these events would have to be cross posted. I don't see the advantage to that...

I also agree with C6BOB - there are just too many "Bay Area's"! We live in an area called "South Bay," but there are two "South Bays" in CA alone!

Local events get drowned out, and I end up reading events that I don't need to. CA should be three states anyway, that way we can sell water and fresh air to So Cal.

Maybe we need a google map zoom function, so you can see events 'local to you'. Kinda like this: http://housingmaps.com/

When do we find out if the vote was enough to make a change?

I like the idea of three sections Troy. CA is such a long state that it would be a plus to divide North from South. Hell, it's a 10 hour drive from San Diego to Redding! Visalia would probably be a good North from South dividing point.

It would be different if folks posted thier location in the posts' title.
I'm new to the PC. A lot of times I have no idea where a gathering is or even what State. After a few months, I'm catching on, but I've also missed a lot of local gatherings.

It is in the Steering Comittee section of the Forum. It should be open for anyone to read. He (Troy) said he would get it set up soon, but that was some time ago. I don't know what the hold up is, but I'm sure he is a busy guy.

Well being within a few miles of the exact geographic center of California, I'd like to leave CA whole, but I guess it wouldn't be asking too much of me to browse 2 different sections of CA either...

Anyway I think the split is a big thumbs up

Just as long as ALL of you come to Tahoe in September!

This is a public poll. Others can see your vote.
So, when will the poll close, and when will you announce the new sections, if at all?

Default Two-section split

The eastern seaboard (is that term used anymore?) has just two sections but a lot more folks and a lot more Corvettes, and they're seemingly doing just fine. The suggestion was offered up to better organize the posts using a title protocol, and that's a great idea.

The question really is one of geography and not numbers. Washington/Oregon/Idaho ought to be one group, and California/Nevada/(?) another. With one fell swoop of the pen, so to speak, the powers-that-be can divide the Pacific catagory in to PNW & Calif.

Please,... split us at the Siskiyou Mts!
