Not quite. I'm still in the process of rebuilding the "rebuilt" engine I bought. (Ponder that one for a bit...) It'll be a couple more weeks.

Oh well, at least this engine is a real 170 (101hp -- ) The engine that originally came in the Turd turned out to be a 144 (85hp -- )...even though it has a 170 code stamped on the outside!

Being a former 64 Ranchero 260 V8 owner I like those old car/trucks and was hoping to see it up and running and damn a rebuilt motor needing more work makes no sense

It'll be running soon enough. The guy (idiot?) who sold me the motor didn't know what he was doing. He put the thrust washer bearings in the wrong place. And the machine shop he used did a lousy job cleaning the crank, so everything in the bottom end was so dirty that some of the bearings were already worn through after 30 minutes run time!!!

No big deal, though. I caught it in time. I'm getting the crank turned (it's never been done before) and re-rebuilding the bottom end. A couple of hundred bucks out of my pocket. And I've learned my lesson: If I want it done right, do it myself.

So...in a couple of weeks she should be running. Not quite ready for run to New Braunfels, but I should be able to putter around town...

Wrong road. Simpson is on FM306.

Continue down I-35 to the Texas 46 exit. Turn right, and 46 becomes Loop 337. Continue a couple of miles to River Road.

I was going to try and make it, but my wife has been out of town all week. She wants to go out to our place in Utopia for the weekend.

Y'all have fun without me!
