hey sic, did you decide on a clutch? i've narrowed it to the textralia 700, the spec 3+, or possibly the new cartek (going to call them tomorrow). wondering which you are thinking about.
I am probably gonna go with the textralia 700. I am shopping for the best price right now. $950 shipped is the price I have found so far.
[QUOTE=rikhek;1565070456]I just had Randy put in a LS7. Very happy. Had it in for my first track day of the season at Hallett a couple weeks ago and it was great.
Complete package including bolts for $443 DELIVERED to my house in Tulsa from Scoggins-Dickey:
I asked them nicely and they even threw in the bearing for free.
Supporting vendor. Hell of a deal.
Make sure you aslo replace your slave and install a remote bleeder.
Sounds like Randy did a good job for you.
LS7 is a good option for a stock feel clutch. I have read that they glaze easy at the dragstrip. The price is right but I am not sure how long they hold up to aggresive driving before you start having the same problems common with GM clutches and HPWR. My stock LS1 clutch started slipping bad at 60,000 miles with 400rwhp. I looked it over after it was out of the car and I was very surprised to see how much clutch surface was left.
The benefit of the aftermarket clutch will be better pad compound and more clamp pressure over stock. The pedal is stiffer and the clutch will shudder as it trys to grip the plate. Its not that bad once it breaks in and you get your foot adjusted to it. The options are limited to stock clutch + Hpwr = feels good but slips or a Performance clutch + Hpwr = chatters but grips.
If you go with the Tex700 they have X and Z grip options. Read the article below. There might be a better brand but I went with Textrailia because alot of c5 owners have had good results with it. I did not do the remote bleeder but I will on the next car.

Thanks for the suggestion to try just changing the bulb for my DRL. It fixed the problem. Just wish I'd done that before breaking the $40 fuse relay. Do you have the rear view mirror out of that C5 you guys just bought that you'd be willing to trade +cash? I've got the issue where mine doesn't tighten and so every time I hit a bump, I get a great view of what's in my trunk.
anyone in the tulsa area have a spare C5 windshield washer tank dont need the pump or sensor just the tank, would be interested in the whole thing if need be.....jon

What does it take to get on the course? I went last weekend and watched some corvette's race and I was told I need a certain license that costs around $150.

For first timers:
Annual license - $35
Drivers Ed. Fee for instructor whether you use him or not (insurance req't for the track) - $30
Track fee - $95
TOTAL - $160
Second and subsequent days for a year it's just the $95 track fee.
I believe it's the least expensive track in the country. Most charge $300 to the $500 range in Kalifornia.
