Default Austin area Sat. meets

Has anybody considered an Austin area Park for Sat. evening meets? There has to be a Park someplace in the Austin area with a large enough parking area thats open till 10 PM or so. It would save the hassles of Retailers getting disturbed by the traffic blocking customer access and their worry of Insurance claims.

Central so as not to start a Civil War between North and South Austin?

Is the parking area at Toney Burger Center open and accessible on Saturday evenings? I have no idea, but there would seem to be plenty of room and it should be convenient for many.

I realize this location is south of the river, but anyone coming from west, north, or east would have very quick access from Highways 71 or 290, as well as MOPAC, Loop 360 or I-35. If this starts a war I want Jason on my side.

Think that Tony Burger Center is AISD property. Would need permission from Austin schools and that is unlikely. Might be worth a try though?

What about a Park? Aren't our taxes paying for them already?

Yes. Just as our taxes are paying for AISD property.

This says 24 hr. notice of assembly is required. Hewlett Hummer is abandoned. Big parking lot. Anyone have a connection at Hewlett? Cozmo?

i guess if we start now, we can find something for next spring. everyone has an excuse for NOT meeting up, cold, time change/no daylight, work, football games, etc.

I have not had time to do a meet in a few weeks. Is there a problem with the 183 and 1431 spot?

I have a portable fire pit, to hell with the time change, also a small generator and halogen lights on a stand, still have some vacation time at work, and we can watch football on someone's I-Phone.

I don't think a park would cut it. Part of the appeal for the meets is having nearby accessible food and drink, that's why the 1431 / Parmer was such a good spot, Had Whataburger right there.

I happen to believe that the Hill Country Galleria would be a good spot.

Plenty of parking, restaurants, and places to go if the wife/girl friend tags along, they can go shopping, see a movie, get a pizza, etc. If its cold, lots of places to go inside.

And sporting goods shops for ammo for Jason & friends.

I'll be hanging out in Austin this weekend so where's a good spot. Maybe I can get away with a quick visit...
