Chris, I would like to have a N|A, C4, LT1, with drag radial class, cus some of those C5's don't need as many mods to put them into the high horse power range.
I think the classes make perfect sense. I've never seen a true street class have no power adders allowed. True street means that the car can be driven to the track and can actually be driven as transportation.
Next this guy is going to want a NA class with limits on the cam specs...
I don't think I'll be able to make this one ( I have something at work that weekend) but I will make the next one.
The wife just checked her planner and has determined that I am not needed for any activities that she may have volunteered me for. So I get to go so put me down. Might even bring her along as she is not all that bad anyhow! :p:
Wash, it is a tired argument that is not going to change anything for the March 6 race. If you want to show, show, if you want to stay home, do that...whatever. Just quit moaning about it.
This is not a club race. This is a race that we put together so that us Corvette owners have a place to go have some fun at the strip without having to run in the normal Sportsman races at the tracks and something that has some classes to it that is not just a test and tune night.
You can boycott all you want and tell all your friends how upset and unfair life is, but if it gets to a point where the races suffer we will just quite doing them and I get the time, expense and energy back from doing them to put into the rest of my life.
I did not hear one compaint about the last two races and how they were setup, actually quite the opposite, but when you start getting a little competition in the class you run scared.
The main reason we even setup 4 races this year is because we thought everyone wanted more. The reason our club is running them is simply because no one has stepped up to the plate and even attempting something similar. Like i said, if this is not the case then we will simply cancel them.
OR, if you want to run it the way you want to run it, I will give you the track owners name and number and you can run the races however you want. That means you publisize the event, deal with the trophies and get reimbursed from the track the day of the race, determine the class structures, run the race, get the results, deal with issues and try making as many people happy as possible, and try having fun racing yourself while doing all the above, plus get enough people to the track to keep the track owners happy.
I am going to try to get my valve seals replaced this week or early next week and put the new BFG's on.
I went to Louisiana this weekend and passed through Hallsville, but didn't see the track. It is about 160 miles away from Lewisville, but I am planning on going. My poor BFG's though, 300 miles round trip is 10% of their life
I though I saw a post or thread about meeting up on the west side of Dallas / Mesquite to gather up before leaving for Hallsville. On another note anyone bringing a second vehicle that will have some extra space. I am kind of leary about driving a couple hundred miles on the drag radials and would like to know if someone will have extra space for a wheel or two. My wife is coming and there went my space for the jack and other needed equipment.
