That phone number just made a post about a smoked targa top. I googled the number, and it’s on this list :/

 

I just got scammed by cyhthia7thompson@gmail.com. 315-351-2682 Learning my lessons the hard way. :-( The original post came from "blufury." user.

 

Sorry to hear you were scammed. Both that phone number and the email address are listed above as being using by a known scammer.

I believe you are mistaken about the user ID that scammed you, however. blufury. (note the period incorporated in the user ID) was banned and his posts deleted after he tried to trick people into thinking he was bluyfury. He asked people to contact him at the number you referenced.

 

I'm glad that I Googled 315 351-2682. I have had texts and phone contact with a man calling himself Thompson who has Z06 wheels for sale in the C7 section of the Forum. I now assume that he is NOT user name (reddeadg8). Luckily I have not gone far enough with him to get scammed but we had made shipping arrangements and I was getting pretty close to pulling the trigger. Is there any recourse procedure to take down a scammer like this?

 

You are correct @savewave I did chat with original user @Blufury and apologized to him as he was also played by the scammer, who pretended to be a buyer and fwd that info to me and thus scamming me for the money.

 

 

Please add (415) 578-4306 to this list. This person reached out to me pretending to be forum member JayO and trying to sell me some exhaust. I reached out to JayO and he let me know that was not him texting me nor was it his phone number!

Yes, looks like Vetteman Jack banned him last night.

 

Looks like the New Guy Bug got me i was intercepted from Post through a PM and took conversation to Text Message not knowing how the PM system works on this forum. Since i guess you cant send PM's till a certain level of acceptance has occurred.
And then scammed for more then $500 sadly and i know better. But it was a Part i was desperately in need of and still need sadly as car is dead waiting on it.

Scammers typically demand payment through a method that can't be reversed. Still, it would be worth reporting the scam.

 

Yeah sadly i don't know how to fix that from a New Person perspective since cant send a PM to confirm if the Sender is the same person from the post. So you can get sidelined quickly and not know ....... i guess i am gullible from a car restorer perspective cause who scams someone on Used / Specific Need Car Parts.

I only found this post cause i was looking up that phone number that correlated it.

Scammer banned.

 

Just got scammed by Rickmazz on the throttle controller post. Didn't catch the changed spelling of riickmazz and he got me over on text and apple cash. Not how I wanted to start in this forum. numbers being used are 315-351-2682, 510-372-7285 & 505-787-3874
