I was looking to make a purchase from a member and was contacted by a scammer.

I just received a text from the name below requesting payment through Zelle. Phone number 904-806-3751. Number and email are on the list.

Known scammer contact info, both banned.

 

I am sure I just fell victim to a scam. I want to pass along some info. I replied to a post from last year from 03qslvrz06 asking about availability of a part that was listed for sale. I got several posts from Heim 1 (didn't notice the difference in the post and replys. I then recieved texts quoting shipping which I declined and the person indicated "he" would pick up shipping. Asked (all via tests) to send the money via venmo and when I asked how to get it sent to him he said his venmo was not workning. He asked I send it to his "wife" via papal which I did but said he did not like that I said it was for goods and services and not personal and friends. He wanted me to cancel the transaction and resend. At that point Itold him I could not cancel a paypal payment he had to have his 'wife" refund the money. Well that has not happened and luckily it was not a big amount (only $25). So here is the info -about this "member" - Corvette forum ID is Hiem 1; telephone number 647-577-9573 - maybe Tprpnto, Canada; money was sent to his "wife' abnerhand2@gmail.com via Paypal; the name was Sharon Linett; his email was koriabaja3@gmail.com; and this is very curious' I sent a screen shot of the payment to "Sharon's" email and it was returned as undeliverable. I intend to pursue this with Paypal. If you will,please post this info .

 

Sorry to hear you were scammed. Yes, contact PayPal immediately. Unless you funded the purchase as "goods & services", they likely won't refund your money, but at least should close the scammer's account. If you funded the PayPal transaction through a credit card or your bank, also contact them to report the scam.

Last week I posted in a FS thread that was about a year old. It was for a C7 shift ****. I showed interest. I also PM'd the seller.

A few days later I got a random email at 2am from david.miike1171@gmail.com

I will paste it below to maybe help somebody going forward. I could just tell it was fishy by the wording. I also searched the email on Facebook and it came up to some profile in the middle east. Today, I had another 2am email from this scammer asking if I got their first message. A few days after the first scam email came in, the actual seller responded to my PM on here and said he sold the item several months ago.

Why is whosvette still listed as a member after trying to steal my STS Turbo add? Has he been banned? He gave his number to call if interested.
757-286-4969 is listed as a scam number, but his information, avatar, etc. still come up as a member......... Unless I missed something.

 

@Whitewalls It appears that the scammer Whitewaiis, posing as you, tried to scam community member whosvette by trying to get him to send money to him for the product you were selling. Whitewaiis was banned on Nov., 7 and his posts were deleted.

I was scammed by ronihgens@gmail.com. Also under phone number 4302570290. May go by a Forum name of Compa. Hijacked a request to purchase C4 rims.
