Just got scammed by Rickmazz on the throttle controller post. Didn't catch the changed spelling of riickmazz and he got me over on text and apple cash. Not how I wanted to start in this forum. numbers being used are 315-351-2682, 510-372-7285 & 505-787-3874
Sorry to hear you were scammed. Don't know whether apple cash will be of any assistance to your, but by all means report the scam to them. If you happened to use a credit card to fund the payment through apple cash, report it to them as well. They might be able to help you.
All of the numbers you posted are known scammer numbers:
Scammer user "lui" with (973) 709-8137 replied to my WTB: and then deleted the post.
However, I still got an email from the forum when the post was made and contacted them.
They proceeded to try and sell me items with photos from others posts. They also could not understand my questions and write poorly.

He changed his name and it is now i!’ He responded to me after I told another user I would buy something. I didn't look at the user name so he got me for $50. He sent more messages with his phone # and he tried to say he would refund me and have me Zelle it to family instead. I refused. Then the real user I wanted reached out and I figured out that I didn't pay attention to his user name and it was my fault. To bad we can't set up a better vetting system to weed out these POS's.

My perception is that we have a handful of scammers who register new user IDs as soon as their last user ID is banned. We update the list of known scammer phone numbers and/or email addresses daily.
We have a number of processes in place to identify and the scammers, but one of our best ways to ID the scammers early is for community members to report any suspicious contacts.
You can make it hard on the scammers by doing a few simple things:
Be wary of making a purchase from someone who just registered and has no record of successful transactions.
Don't let the scammers take you offline to make a deal.
Don't post in a sale thread that you are interested. The scammers pounce when they see a post like that. Instead, PM the seller to let him know of your interest.
Pay attention to details. Scammers will often register a user ID similar, but not quite the same as the legitimate seller. They hope you aren't paying attention. Show them you are.

Here's a repeat scammer. 973-709-8137 then says send to 725-274-0048. Braxton Smith. Crappy English was a give away
The 973 number is already in the list of known scammer contacts. I've added the 725 number. Are you able to assiciate that number with a user ID or was your only contact via email?
I did not see a name, perhaps they have one under this new name. Thanks for the scam alert! had it not been for poor Engilish I would have been out the money

If you got an automated scam alert, that means we had banned the user ID the scammer used.
Attention Mods. I was messaged by "Lioz" who was not the OP for the item I was inquiring about purchasing. His email is osbornecharles0520@gmail.com. No phone number given but sent venmo name as well.
