Main hoop, crossbar and two rear legs. It also came with four plates that you would typically use in a steel unibody car to weld the bar to the floor. Nope! I’ll be welding this one directly to the frame.

I fit the crossbar and welded it in place. The hoop was only 41” wide from bottom outside edges, which would have been a problem, but once I used a bfh to knock the crossbar in place I ended up with 44” which is perfect.

One of the rear down legs is temporarily holding the main hoop in place so I can measure and mark the holes I need to cut to weld the main hoop to the frame.

You can see where the main hoop legs land which positions the inside edges of the hoop even with the inside edge of the frame kick ups. My plan is to cut a slot in the floor 9” x 4”, slice the tube diagonally and weld it to the kick up where it meets the crossmember. This will allow the main hoop to clear the seating are and lean back about 10 degrees.

Once I slice the main hoop and raise it up to the point where the kick ups and crossmember meets, this 3” gap will be closed and the crossbar will be at the correct height. Also, all panels and carpeting will still fit.

Oh, on this picture the bottom edge of that blue piece of tape is where the top edge of the crossbar needs to be to line up properly for the shoulder harnesses.

Getting ready to trim and install the rear down legs. They will be weld to the top of the crossmember in about four inches from the frame rail.

Front suspension with Global West upper and lowers, C3 spindles and hubs, and Ridetech coilovers. With this set up, Ridetech will craft a specific coilover (no extra charge) with the appropriate range and ride height (GW arms have both an upper and lower bump stop built in).

This is the heart of the Track 1 rear. A Ford 9” with Truetrac and 3.70 gears, big bearing yoke and 1350 series half- shafts. It also comes with those cool Ridetech trailing arms and coilovers.

Here is the rear installed. It does require removing the frame pinion bracket and welding a new pinion mount and rear upper brace.

Had to snake the oval tubing to follow the tightest route while avoiding and moving parts. Anything over 30 degrees I’ll use a bend, but I don’t have any of those, plus I like the fabricated look.

That turn down is actually a turn up towards the rear mounted muffler. It’s also my biggest screw up! Twice I managed to weld it pointing in the wrong direction. Damn spatial awareness!

I had to snake the oval tubing under the car, hugging the floor where I had the most clearance while avoiding anything moving. I use bends for anything over 30 degrees, but ai don’t have any of those. Plus, I like the fabricated look.

This is the right side segment from the clamp just forward of the crossmember with the exhaust holes to the turn up just aft of the differential.

I’ll make the final connection to the muffler when the other side is finished and I decide how far to lift the muffler.

I haven’t decided how much of the rear valance to trim. I think they will look best recesses about 50%. Thoughts?
