The challenge: install a parking brake shoe, spring and retainer over this tiny pin while blocked by the spindle. This the the more difficult side as there is nothing to keep the pin from falling out the back. If you do the rear pin first, you will realize what a luxury having the bearing retainer behind it is.

I modified my DeWitts radiator slightly in order to mount the Black Magic fan. It is actually 1/2” too tall, but not a big deal.

Once the radiator was in I trimmed the hoses to fit. These are the stock hoses and they fit okay. I wonder if there is a better shape for the DeWitts radiator?

Finally, I made some spacers for the sway bar to ensure there was at least 1/4” between the radiator, sway bar and front pivot of the lower control arm. I ended up with two 1/8” spacers on each side and everything is copacetic.

Out with the wimpy 4 gauge battery cables. In with 1 gauge cables. I made them all to length crimping, soldering and covered with heat shrink.

Makes a nice crimp that then gets heated with a torch and solder is drawn into the hole making a bullet proof bond.

That’s nice and meaty! I’m also sitting just over an inch higher on ride height, so they ought to tuck into the wheel wells nicely.

To dial in camber and caster, then torque the steering linkage and set the toe. Ride height is just over an inch lower than shown in this picture.

I don’t have the front rotors installed yet, so the wheel will sit 3/4” further out once they are installed. Also, the tire sits another 3/4” outside the rim at the widest section width.

In order to get a stronger ujoint and maintain the necessary removable front yoke, I “upgraded” to a 1350 joint and man is it beefy! Gene at SST was convinced it would need to clearance the tunnel but I have about 1/2” all around. You could drive truck through that!
