Once the bracket was removed there is a step in the frame. The kit comes with this shim to even up the upper and lower sections of the frame (in this picture I’ve already welded the shin in place and plug welded the two reinforcement holes).

Pulled the spark plugs to make it easier to turn the engine. They were used to break in the engine and look good.

For those of you paying attention, you will notice my markings are backwards. Don’t worry, I fixed them!

At any rate, .005” is awesome.

Got the wires better organized and figured out where I’ll install the coil (firewall) and how I’ll mount the fuel lines on the firewall.

This area above the wiper motor looked like a squirrel chewed on it. A little sanding and it will be ready for paint.

I also filled a couple dozen holes and all the staple holes and missing chunks in the gutters where it looks like the hood was closed on tools - several times.

Perhaps tomorrow?

The three major milestones of any build (IMO) engine install, first start, first drive. I’m most excited by engine install, most nervous about first start and most looking forward to first drive.
