2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray

The 2021 C8 configurator is live so we decided to find out how much would it cost to buy the most expensive 2021 Corvette!

2020 was an exciting, yet frustrating year for Corvette enthusiasts. The mid-engine C8 is, of course, a huge hit, and many CorvetteForum members excitedly scooped up one (or two). But with strike and pandemic delays, Chevy’s been unable to keep up with demand. Sure, GM extended the 2020 model-year run through December, but for many prospective buyers, they’re now dreaming of owning a 2021 model year Corvette.

Enter the 2021 Corvette build & price configurator. You know you’ve spent a few hours (days?) dreaming away and building your perfect C8 Corvette. In that spirit, we decided to figure out how much it would cost to buy the most expensive 2021 Corvette possible. Top trim. Every option. Even those silly, overpriced accessories.

Get your calculators ready.

…just kidding, just scroll down.

Most Expensive 2021 Corvette Trim & Power

2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray

While 2020 was mostly a (removable) hardtop affair, it’s much easier to snag the (also hardtop) convertible for 2021. To start our experiment, we selected the top-of-the-line 3LT convertible, which starts at $78,945.  We next selected the $1995 Front Lift with Memory feature (a 2LT and 3LT exclusive) so we can avoid steep driveway approaches and speedbumps with its 1,000 GPS-based location memory.

Under the hood (rear hatch?), there are two ways to bump the 6.2-Liter LT2 V8 up to 495 HP and 470 lb-ft. of torque. Opt for the $1,195 Performance Exhaust by itself. OR, even better, tick off the $5,995 Z51 Performance Package option, which includes the Performance Exhaust PLUS —

  • Z51 Performance Brembo Brakes
  • Z51 Performance Suspension
  • Performance Rear Axle Ratio
  • Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD)
  • Z51-Specific Front Splitter And Rear Spoiler
  • Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/35ZR19 Front And 305/30ZR20 Rear, High Performance, Run-Flat, Summer-Only Tires
  • Heavy-Duty Cooling System

Yes, that’s a grand more than last year — Boo! — but it’s still a great package that’s required for track use and that will run you to 60 in under three seconds. And while you’re here, don’t forget to snag the $1,895 FE4 Magnetic Selective Ride Control.

Lastly, we snagged the $100 battery protection package as well as a $5000 Customer VIN ending reservation.

Most Expensive 2021 Corvette Exterior

3LTs offer eight standard and four premium paint options. Sebring Orange Tintcoat and Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat both cost $995, while the other two premium paints get a $500 price tag. Similarly, there are 10 decals and racing stripe options. These include three Stinger Stripe, Carbon Flash choices, which cost $500 each, while the other seven are priced at $995.

We picked the $995 Full-Length Dual Racing Stripe Package in Sterling Silver with the $995 Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat to best highlight the lines of the C8 Corvette’s razor-sharp styling. We also added Fender hash marks in $245 Midnight Silver with Carbon Flash accent as they were the closest match to our racing stripes.

  • Sueded microfiber-wrapped steering wheel
  • Adrenaline Red custom leather stitch

2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray

At all four Corvette corners, we upgraded to $1,494 19″ trident-spoke alloys (available in Spectra Grey or Sterling Silver) along with $595 Bright Red brake calipers. And because we couldn’t stop there, we also picked up an extra set of $2,895 alloy wheels. We selected the all-black trident-spoke aluminum wheels over the star-shaped 5-open-spoke Pewter-painted aluminum alloys, which cost $2,695.

We couldn’t bring ourselves to buy more than 2 sets of wheels (we tried but we couldn’t).

Grand Total?

$116,130 …plus tax and title.
