Riveting Race: Corvette Z06 vs. Porsche 911 GT3 at Road Atlanta
It looks as if one of our own, Lawdogg149, made quite an impression at Road Atlanta in a second review running his Z06 at the track.
In this thread, the Corvette Forum senior member talks about giving a few would-be contenders at Road Atlanta a little more insight into the car’s capabilities, including a 2015 Porsche GT3 driver, with whom he seemed to have the most fun.
“Once we finally had about a half of a lap clear track we were able to really compare the two cars,” Lawdogg149 writes. “Again this was never discussed between us prior to the session. As it can be seen both of these cars are very capable cars. Both pulled very well through the turns and down the straights.”
Lawdogg149 continues by stating, “Indeed he was the better driver of the two of us but I’m sure the corvette was the better car. Hence during our session I could easily pull him back in.” However, he admits that after watching the videos, some might have a different opinion about his track run with the GT3.
Personally, I just love the fact that he’s enjoying his Z06 the way it was meant to be enjoyed – by driving it all-out on the track…then sharing the experience with us here at Corvette Forum.
