We’re starting to lose count of exactly how many blown C7 engines we’ve gotten wind of, which is something that can dwindle the spirits of the most loyal Corvette fans.

A Louisiana couple is bringing a lawsuit against Lesson Chevrolet Company Inc. and General Motors, claiming their new 2014 Corvette started shaking and making strange sounds less than seven months after they purchased it.

By the time all is said and done, the C7 may just go down as one of Chevy’s most award-winning cars ever. The latest honor is for Corvette’s LT1 Small Block 6.2L V8, which has been recognized as one of Ward’s 10 Best Engines for 2015.

The new Corvette could actually be barred from South Korea because the car’s 455-horsepower LT1 V8 is just too damn throaty for the country’s engine noise regulations.

The damaged engine didn’t taint Car and Driver’s feeling for the Corvette. As highlighted in their headline , “Our Corvette blew an engine, but we still love it.”
