I’m not sure if you’ve had a chance to catch the new Captain America movie yet, which features the Black Widow driving a C7, but it’s certainly worth that 3D ticket price … and those expensive snacks at the theater that border on legalized extortion. In fact, my only real complaint is that the all-black Corvette driven by Scarlett Johansson who stars as the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the film, didn’t get more screen time with the actress.
After weeks of circling the rumor mill, General Motors has made it official: the Corvette Stingray will be offered with an eight-speed automatic transmission for 2015. Designed and built by GM in-house, the automaker says the new transmission will deliver world-class shift times that will rival some of the best dual-clutch systems on the market, all while delivering better fuel efficiency.
With a couple of weeks before the New York auto show opens, we’re getting wind that Chevrolet has plans for unveiling a new Corvette at the show. The carmaker apparently will be making three big debuts in the Big Apple for the April 16th event, with one being a new variant of the Corvette.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray driven by Scarlett Johansson who plays the Black Widow in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, will likely spark a lot more ‘Vette fans into buying tickets to the film when it hits U.S. theaters this weekend. To help you rev up even more for the second installment of the superhero franchise, we thought we’d share a few photos we stumbled upon of the C7 on set in Washington D.C.
Talk about intimidating. Can you imagine cruising down the highway and suddenly seeing this sitting in the median? I’m betting most would probably start sweating the second they were to see it, even if they weren’t speeding.
Sure, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I certainly don’t mind a few custom features on the new ‘Vette — and don’t get me wrong, I truly like some of the stuff Forgiato does, but honestly, I can barely stand to look at these things, and I would prefer to refrain from even calling them Corvettes.
There’s always one right? That one person who regardless of what everyone else says, figures he’ll go against the grain. Yup, and believe it or not, there’s one who even exists among all the journalists in the world who have weighed in on the award-winning 2014 Corvette Stingray. Wait, was that “award-winning”? Oh yeah, award-winning, which is why it almost seems odd when you hear anyone say anything bad about the C7.
