first off make a new post this doesnt belong in FAQ, forget your loc. tap the low level ouputs with rca plugs coming off the headunit before it goes to the processor. i have a hot to in the faq a few pages back
The signal at the normal speakers is missing the bass, it's not your converter. The only places to easily get low frequencies is line-level at the HU outputs going to the conditioner, or speaker-level at the door subs.
can you please guide me to the right place. I just looked and could not find it. I know this is anoying but im going crazy trying to figure this out. Thank you
some parts of this section need to be updated..as there are some broken links and pics that dont work at all..maybe it just me..but tons and tons of good info!

I am considering making my own modification to my C5 bezel, but I have a few questions. Since you're in the L.A. area, is there any chance I can meet you face to face, or you can give me a call @ (805) 587-6707
Hello I’m sure you posted this tutorial a long time ago but i just got me a C5 corvette and I have the exact same radio the alpine and I’m trying to install it to my C5 I have a few questions 1 I can’t seem to find the remote turn on wire on any of the C5 wire harnesses so maybe it’s a different color? Can you help me with that? And also there are 2 wire harnesses on the Delco stock radio and are next to each other if you add another stereo do theses wire harnesses just get eliminated? Because the wire harnesses adapter that I got doesn’t seem to support them?. Or do you hook up the remote on to the power antenna? + Blue/White to the Blue?
If you're keeping the stock speaker setup, the HU 'remote turn on' lead needs to be connected to the dark green wire at pin 8 of C1. You also need to connect the speaker level HU outputs to the proper speaker feed/speaker return wires on C1/C2, and line-level signal needs to be connected to 'Front Audio Signal' and 'audio return-common' on C4. If you have an interface adapter it should take care of all that for you, except maybe for the remote wire to pin 8.
If you're replacing the oem speaker setup, all you'd need the new HU 'remote turn on' for is to power up the antenna module if you have a coupe.
In my car (2004 Z06) fuse 22 only supplies power when the iginition switch is in the "Run" position. It does NOT supply power when the key is in the "ACC" position, which ruled out the possibility of using fuse 22 for me.
After much digging around in the passenger side footwell for this connector (and digging around on the forum) I discovered that it DOES NOT EXIST in 2004 year model cars (and possibly 2003?). So I was left looking for other sources for +12v switched acc power...
I saw jawzforlife's post and verified that the brown wire coming from the ignition switched IS in fact the right signal. However, I was hesitant to tap into this wire so I looked for another source. Here's what I came up with:
Look for a small bundle of wires under the steering column (you have to remove the interior panel that covers it first) - the colors should be grey, purple, pink, sea-green, and yellow. The yellow wire is switched +12v power:
I used a scotchlock connector to tap into it:
This wire will provide +12v power when the ignition is in the "ACC" and "RUN" positions.
Hopefully this will save some people time, as I spent hours trying to get all of this sorted.

This is the info I need!! I will do the splice this weekend. I am currently tapped into the FUSE "22" slot but this is only hot when my key is in the "ON" position -- meaning my HVAC controls, yellow corner lights, etc are ON as well. This is some BIG battery drain if I'm sitting in a parking lot with the radio on! THANKS MARK!
Yes, i see, it is the 25 AMP fuse, I will have to get a fuse tap thingy that fits over the switched leg of the 25 AMP fuse. I will run an inline 10 AMP fuse right after the tap. Thanks!!
MarkCz - I tried to put a fuse tap thing on the 25 AMP fuse and just couldn't get the fuse in with that tap on it. SOOOOO, I did the other method and tapped into the yellow wire -- THIS WAS SO EASY AND WORKS FANTASTIC!!!!
Thanks again to everyone who posted in this thread!!
Another option other than the add-a-circuit gizmo is a shove-in blade tap like this, just be sure to add an inline fuse on the wire. If you can't find one small enough for a mini-fuse just file down a full size tap.
