No it's not as bright as the Focal tweeter. It also doesn't have nearly as nice top end extension, and is slightly less detailed. It's easier to work with though.

I am looking at the Dynaudio 362 (3way) and the 260 (2way). It seems the 260 would uncomplicate things. If I go w/ the 260 should the tweeter go where the factory 3.5 was or next to the 8"? Plan on using Audison LRX amps and maybe VRX if the budget will allow. 362 or 260 ???

The dyn tweeter should go in neither of those locations.
You need to very carefully aim this tweeter. Possibly kick panel locations, or apillars.

I found that apillars worked best for me.

What you see below is the culmination of many hours and several pillar builds to find an acceptable location for hte MD102:

This may sound harsh but,

If you aren't willing to do this kind of thing for high end speakers, then don't waste the money. Spending a ton of money and putting great equipment into a bad install is just flushing cash away.

Not taken as "harsh" your (and others on this forum) expertise is very much appreciated. I don't think I'm willing, at this time, to experiment that much. I do like the sound of the Dynaudios though, and I think you are saying is to just go w/ a less expensive model.

Yeah, it's really a shame to see great drivers haphazardly thrown into a door. Lord knows I'm guilty of it.

My Dyn 362 are sitting in a box waiting for me to get off my sorry butt and install them. So is my Audison amp. The midbass sounds easy, the big dome is going to be a challenge and now it sounds like the tweeter too.

Kale- Have you tried various mounts on the door? What didn't you like about your previous locations?

MD102 sucks badly off axis. It rolls off fast, and sounds harsh.

mho midbass is much harder than the tweeter... I still havent got my midbass sounding right
